Oh boy where do I start! Okay, this company is advertised all over the internet and they got people thinking they are legit when they are not. They are smooth and think they got people fooled but they messed with the wrong person.  If there are good researches out there you can find a lot about Quicktate and it's owners.

I applied for this company months ago before they even got in contact with me.  I think not think nothing about it because most work at home companies are like that.  So Julie Harlow which suppose to be Quicktate manager contacted me through email.  So I decided to go ahead and give them a shot. I took the online typing test and sat up my account with Quicktate.  So I agreed to the confidential policy that they have.  You have to sign saying you agree to keep the information you transcribe confidential.  I started thinking right then that how can someone keep this information confidential if they information is coming through your speakers where everyone can hear.  But I did not pay it no mind because I had headphones that connect to my speakers to where no one could be heard.

Then I read to where they only pay 0.0025 of a cent a word.  So I started thinking that if I do a lot of work I could that would not be a problem since I am a stay at home mother of four children.  I really needed the money so I immediately begin working and staying up late nights trying to provide for my family.  They suppose to pay on the 15th and 25th of each month.  I put in a lot of hours to work before payday but comes to find out that I only got paid $4.14 in my PayPal account.  Oh, they pay by PayPal by the way.  But I was very upset and I tried to contact the manager which is Julie Harlow but she claim that she did not handle payroll but for some strange reason she was able to tell me how much work I put in and what my pay was, which didn't sound right to me.  I said how could you not have that information but sitting here telling me all this.  But anyway, I contacted Lee Dorfman the owner and he would never respond.  He just responded by saying with all questions contact support@Quickate.com.  I did that but no one ever responded.  I sent email after email and text after text but no one seemed like they cared.  So two days ago I logged out to take a break and then tried to log back in and couldn't.  I went to forgot password link to see if I could reset it and it said account is not identified and that made me really upset.  I tried contacting Julie Harlow once again on yahoo messenger and she logged out to stop from answering me.  I contacted Lee Dorfman and no one responded.  I contacted support and no one responded.  To this day no one has responded to me to let me know why my account is suspended or not working.  It is like they got free work out of me and no guarantee that I will get my money owed to me on the 25th.  So I really got strange feelings about this so called company.  I did some deep down research and come to see that Quicktate had an 800 number to call.  I called it and it went straight to please speak slowly Quicktate.com will transcribe your message.  I said what in the world transcribe my message.  For what I need to speak to someone in support or customer service.  They had four options and everyone of them said the same thing, which is odd.  Then I looked and seen another email address that was support@idictate.com and come to find out it all goes through Julie Harlow and Lee Dorfman.  They control everything.  Tech support, customer service, you name it.  I did some research on Lee Dorfman and found out some horrible things about him.

How are you going to own a business called Quicktate and then have a listing on the internet about renting out apartments for $1000.00 or more but to respond to Quicktate.com for more information.  I was like what in the world.  That is two different things.  And then Julie Harlow could be a fake name because so many people have that name.  If not, that could be Lee Dorfman too.  You don't have proof of who they say they are with no pictures or no information on yahoo messenger at all.  Besides you have to communicate with them by email or yahoo messenger only.  No phone calls or nothing.  That is the only way you can contact them.  The 800 number you call, you have to have your message transcribed to get to them and I done work with them so I know about it.  I don't want anybody to know my business or what I need to say to these people.  Is it even legal to have your business out there like that?  Not knowing if these people working for Quicktate have headphones or anything.  And by me working for them I found out that people have some really personally things on there being said.

So be advised everyone they don't pay you for the time and heartache you put in it and they ignore your requests or ignore you all together when you have a issue or when they are done with you.  It is not fair that they can up and just throw people off to the side once they get through with you and don't even tell you why.  I found some posts that people but out there by Quicktate but you don't know if they are making up fake names to put good reviews about Quicktate.  You don't know nothing or can tell nothing about these people.  I also reread my emails they sent to me and found out that they said if your payout equals $600.00 that you can't get your money unless you provide your social security number.  And I said what kind of mess is that.  I am so glad my account is suspended or disabled or whatever they want to do with it because I am through with those scammers.  It is funny when they say need typists badly really need typists and want you to refer people.  But when you refer them they never hire the people you refer.  I was told they hire people to do there own transcribing they suppose to be doing for other people and try to pay the people they hired out of they pay they receive.  To be honest it sounds quite true.

So be aware of QUICKTATE AND IDICTATE.

I've worked for iDictate/Quicktate for just a little while, and I've been doing great and making some great money. But all of a sudden I'm no longer receiving files to transcribe from the iDictate side. Now I'm still transcribing for Quicktate, and no one will respond will I try to see if there is any work available. On that note I'm disappointed because the work was really great. I'd just like to know what happened and if anyone out there can tell me I would be really appreciative.

I too work for Quicktate and have worked for them since June of this year. In the five months that I've worked for them, I have never had a real issue with them when it came to my pay. There have been occasions where the pay has been off a few dollars but that is why I keep track of my totals in an Excel spreadsheet and when I've told them of my pay shortage, I've always received payment within a few days. Whenever I've had an issue, I have always been able to get in touch with Julie and found her to be very helpful and nice.

As far as the confidentiality agreement is concerned this is standard practice in transcription jobs. Occasionally you will receive calls that are of a private matter, both personal and business and these are not to be repeated to family and friends and so on.

In reference to having to supply your social security number after having made $600, this is because you will be required to fill out a W-9 form, you know, for tax reasons since you're technically an independent contractor and not an employee of the actual company and therefore the government requires this documentation after a certain amount of money has been paid out (by company) or received (by you). So, it's not like they're just trying to get your S.S number out of you to spam you and screw you over.

I'm sorry that you have had such a bad experience with them but just because we all have not experience this same treatment that you claim to have gotten, does not mean that all positive reviews of Quicktate are posted under fake names by Julie or Lee.

Not True...plain and simple

This is a lie. I work from home for Quicktate, and no I am not Julie. I have been working with this company for almost 6 months. I have ALWAYS been paid on time through Paypal.

Clearly this person did not keep track of their earnings. I keep track by using a simple Excel spreadsheet. When pay day rolls around I always get that amount or more.

Check the facts for yourself. There are entire folders dedicated to Quicktate on both www.workplacelikehome.com and www.wahm.com. Register for free and then check the forums. Thats where REAL Quicktaters talk about the job. Yes you must provide your SSN when you make $600 cause it is required by the law for tax purposes. This person has got their story twisted.

When will you learn?

Almost all "work at home" jobs are scams. Why do people like you never seem to learn that? Isn't it obvious?
