Quotewizard Quote Wizard Scam to give out unauthorized leads to insurance companies Internet

I have received seven offers for car insurance quotes in the last two days, four online, three via phone calls.  I never requested a quote.  They all offered quotes for a make and model I don't own and have never owned.  The last time I got a call from a local State Farm agency, I demanded to know who gave them this information, and they told me they were forwarded a lead from a company called Quote Wizard.  They had no information about the company, but they told me to look it up online.

Quote Wizard apparently makes their money by selling phony leads.  I guess it allows the insurers to bypass the "Do Not Call" list because they think they're responding to quote requests.

If you are insurance agent, please know all of these leads are scams and not requested or authorized by the alleged customer.

If you receive a call regarding a quote you never requested, definitely ask if the lead came from Quote Wizard.  The government needs to shut down this ongoing scam and charge the operators with fraud.

I'm sorry to hear that you had this experience happen to you.  Here at QuoteWizard, we do work to match consumers to insurance agents to get them the best possible rate.  The lead information we receive is entered directly from consumer response.  In some instances, we do get information that is inaccurate where someone entered in the information.  There have been instances when a spouse, family member, or sometimes third party enter in the information, so if it was not you that submitted the request, we will promtly remove the information from our database. When your information has been provided but you were not the person to submit it, we do remove your information and mark the lead as bad.

When the insurance agent calls to follow up on the lead, it is important to remember that placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all, because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from companies with which you have provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.  Since the submitted information is a request for more information, it is within juristiction for agents to follow up.  Because of this, we do have a consumer support line at 206-753-2625 for a speedy correction of a false request is submitted.

To address the issue that QuoteWizard is somehow a scam, let me assure you we are not.  We take all issues and requests seriously to find an expedited solution and resolution.  In an effort to maintain our quality standing as a company, we have recieved an A+ rating from the BBB which can be found here: http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/business-reviews/sales-lead-generation/quotewizardcom-in-seattle-wa-22428837

We take all consumer issues seriously, and hope this resolves any questions in the matter.  If you are still reciving calls from an agent whom got your infomation from us, please do not hesitate to contact our consumer line above to help resolve the issue quickly and professionally.
