I had R&M Home Remodeling of San Antonio, LLC sheetrock my house that I am remodeling. I have known Ray Galvez for almost 15 years, mainly from me doing work from his employer and then doing work for him.  Only because I knew him I decided to go with his company. He was more expensive than the other quotes that I received, I had sent him copies of these quotes for his reference.

Upon completion of the job I realized why they were so much higher than the others, they could not read a tape measure. When the job was completed there was 49 full sheets of sheetrock left over. Labor was factored in for these sheets along with the cost of materials, then include 10 sheets that had to be torn out because they install plain sheetrock in the bathrooms, that’s 59 full sheets of waste, and cost.

They left my house a complete and total disaster, not only did it take me 3 weeks to clean all of the mud off the floor, they left food, fast food bags, bottles and cans all over the floor, even with 5 garbage cans around the house. Worst of all I had told his son before they started the job that disrespect of my house in that manor was the worst thing they could do. I could not understate the disrespect that showed. Which in turn also showed in the poor workmanship in the job.

The first crew had absolutely no idea on how to hang sheetrock, holes around fixtures and outlets were well over an inch past the fixture, I complained, I also knew this crew would not complete the job in a timely manner, a new crew was then sub contracted, while the got the job done in time they did not fix the areas around the fixtures which are still obvious and I can see most of the seams in the ceiling. They also did not complete the tape float and texture down far enough, “the molding will cover it” well the molding is only 3” and their voids over 4”. They also sheet rocked over an area that was not supposed to be done which caused a bow in the sheetrock, I’m still trying to figure out how to remedy this one, there is also cracks where they did not apply tape to a few seams.

I called Ray to check this out and he showed absolutely no concern. So an absolutely awful job. Do not use this company for anything. In truth I their pricing will keep you away.
