7/13/14 - Responded to his ad on Craigslist, because I looked at his work on Facebook and he seemed legitimate. He has a logo and several pictures of work he's supposedly completed. He even has invoices. Through me off though that he wanted me to transfer money to him via Walmart. I thought maybe it was because I was out of state, but maybe he wants cash so IRS can't trace. Not sure on that one.
I needed someone to paint the entire interior of my home. I informed him that I had three rooms with wallpaper that needed to be removed, and even included pictures. I told him square footage of home and all information he requested. He quoted me $1200 labor, plus paint. It was a great deal, or so I thought.
Eric told me it would only take 3 days, and that included all nail holes filled, caulk all trim, and paint walls. I asked him if that included closets and everything, and he said yes. He sent me an invoice and I sent him $500 on 7/15/14.
Then the excuses started. To make a long story short, even after cigarette butts found in my yard, spring for back screen door jammed, and a/c thermostat turned down to 50, he convinced me to send him more money. I paid for all supplies, even stuff that wasn't paint, and he ended up abandoning the job. He wouldn't return my calls, emails, or texts until I told him I would file charges. He then contacted me on 7/31/14 and had another excuse. I told him I just wanted him to finish. I no longer thought of him as a professional, but had already paid him to do the job. Guess what, he promised to finish it, but it was just another lie.
I kind of got 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, foyer, half a hallway, a few doors, and some trim painted. Unfortunately, the rest of the home was left untouched. The new, reputable contractor informed me that I had paint all over my trim, drips on the doors, and you can see the old paint through the new. Nail holes weren't filled, laundry room, kitchen, all closets and bathrooms, and the top half of the hallway not finished. Doors and trim left unfinished, windows not caulked, etc.
A job that was supposed to take 3 day, starting on 7/15/14, was unfinished as of 8/1/14. I'm out $1441 in labor and supplies, plus $1650 for the tenants that couldn't wait to rent beyond the 1st of August.
He has at least three different companies on Angie's List, and posts numerous ads on Craigslist. I'm writing reviews, and flagging his ads as fast as I can, but he's still posting. I want him to stop scamming people. He even did the same to a military member who was deployed. I'm also in the military, and not able to be there to take him to court. I will be trying to take leave as soon as I can, so I can only hope the court system won't fail me.
Help me stop him!!!

No it was absolutely not false advertising!! And it's pretty funny how you stated that the pictures I post on hear could be anyone's house but yet they are the actual pictures that I had posted on my craigslist ad of your house that you wanted me to remove! Liar.....

That picture could be of anyone's home...including yours. No, you didn't put the hardware back up anywhere in the home. Besides, what professional painter would paint around nail holes and then spackle later. I questioned you about that when you accidentally got that in the pic you sent me. I'm done responding to your false statements. See you in court. BTW, liar is the correct spelling. If anyone would like to contact me for more info, please do, as I'd be glad to show documentation.

She stated that she kind of got 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, foyer, half a hallway, a few doors, and some trim painted. Here are some pictures I took before leaving the job because she wasn't willing to pay for work that wasn't included in the price / on the invoice..and as far as the rest of the house...the rest of the house she's talking about are the rooms where the entire walls had wallpaper that she didn't want to pay for to get removed!! ...the picture of the door that "looks like" there is paint on the glass is crap because it has a masking film on it that we use to mask the glass which is still on there... Peel the film off and you got a nicely painted door with no paint on the glass. And the pictures she posted with a purple square on the walls are pictures I sent her to show her what we had left to do in those rooms. I removed the blinds then painted those areas and reinstalled the blinds (which you can see in the pictures I'm posting of her house! This lady is a liar!!!!

No Eric, I did not lie, and I have all the emails/texts to prove it. I'm just really tired of being taken advantage of because my honest and trusting nature. I don't really care of many of your friends you ask to get on here and write fake reports. I don't doubt that you could do a good job painting, because anyone can paint well if they take their time. What I doubt is your "effort" that you say you put into every project, especially when it's someone like me that you knew you could take advantage of because I was out-of-state. I also have people that I will be asking to go to court with me, including the couple that you scammed a few months ago. They contacted me through CL, and told me you did the exact same thing to them. So I guess you're still up to your unprofessional ways. I also have the information and pictures that the reputable painting company provided to me when they repaired and finished what you started.
You definitely knew about the wallpaper, because I even sent you pictures of the rooms that had wallpaper. No, I did not know about the water damage around the one window, and would have gladly paid for the repairs, but you said we'd call it even since I saved you $100. Rmember? Since you said I had to send a a wire transfer, I thought it was going to cost me $50 each time I sent you money. It ended up costing me $9 each time, and even after you told me you'd knock $100 off my bill, I was honest and told you it didn't cost me the $100. You then said we'd call it even with the repair of that one window. If I hadn't had to send the money via wire transfer, and could have paid with a check like I did with the ligitamate company, then we never would have had that issue.
Anyways, I will be there next summer and you will have a chance to explain your side of the story to a judge. An even better option would be for you to act like a true business owner, and settle this matter with a dissatisfied customer in a professional manner, ie. refunding my money. If you would have settled with me when you relaized you couldn't finish, then I would have accepted half the cost, but you cost me WAY more money than that. It will be a full refund, pluse if I go to court, all court cost and lost rent. I noticed you took the pictures of my home off CL after I told you to last wek. Kind of false advertisment wasn't it?!?!

It's crazy how anyone could just go online and LIE about what really happened!! First off...I work hard and take pride in my work!!! I have 100's of satisfied homeowners that absolutely loved my work (shortly after this is posted, I'll be sending an email to all my customers asking them to come to this website to comment on the work that I did for them) Denise gripka (the lady that left this negotiate report about me) contacted me to paint her house like she mentioned...but she absolutely did not mention the wallpaper in ALL of the bathrooms and the entire kitchen!!
She also did not mention water damage on the ceilings or water damage around the windows!! IThe price I gave her was $1000 for LABOR ONLY to paint walls ceilings and trim of her entire home , which was a heck of a deal!! I only gave her this price because after speaking with her over the phone she explained that she was in a bind because she had tenants ready to move in within days...I did tell her that it would take us 3 days to complete the job..but like I mentioned, we were suppose to be simply painting the walls ceilings and trim ONLY!!
Not to remove wallpaper and repair water damage to ceilings and around windows!! Well because she seemed reasonable, I started painting and got 90% of the home painted...a few days later she contacted about the job not being completed yet, I explained that I had to repair water damage (which I already repaired it) and that it was going to cost a bit more then I billed her for...she stated that she didn't think she should have to pay more because she figured it was included...she had mentioned in her report that I sent her an invoice..
well I'm going to attach a copy of that invoice in this report!! Well this is all I have to say about this matter...it's terrible that people can just post negative things THAT ARE NOT TRUE about people (putting all there personal information on the Internet) and not be required to provide proof on whether it's true or not!!! IT'S CRAZY that she would mention that I gave her an invoice and not include it in her report!! I actually just tried to figure out how to attach the invoice I sent her and it doesn't give me the option!!! This is crazy!!!
