My name is Kevin. After moving to Chandler, AZ in June of 2007 I started to look for a place to rent. I came across R.S.V.P. Realty and signed a lease with them for a condo that they managed. Greg Sharpe was the young man that leased the place to me. He is a nice kid (I say kid because he's in his mid 20's, no disrespect) but I have to say that the professionalism just wasn't there. Tuck your shirt in, take out the sucker, and know a little something about the place you're renting. He wasn't sure what utilities were included with the place and told us water wasn't at first, but it ended up in our favor and I found out at lease signing. Which is good for us, but a good example of just how tight a ship R.S.V.P. is. Anyway we got the place and moved in. Things were fine until it came time to move out....

I gave them a $1100 deposit. I did damaged the carpet pretty bad. I got a dog and we all know what happens with a puppy. So the $445 carpet cleaning bill is understandable though ridiculously steep. Did I mention that when I moved out to Chandler I acquired my Real Estate License and worked for another property management company. The link to my license is on the top of this "report". Anyway, I have a pretty good idea of what costs are involved in cleaning carpet. High, trust me. Anyway the MAIN reason I'm here. I got dinged $275 for allegedly cutting off the hose bib that connects the washer and dryer. They said I cut the hose connections off and damaged the piping. When told I never had a washer and dryer and therefor had no business messing around with the piping they told me they would call the owner and look into it. They keep using the ,"I need to contact the owner since we no longer manage the property" card. Hilarious. Apparently they think I don't know any better and forgot that THEY, RSVP were the ones managing the property. I have been playing the waiting game of theirs giving them the benefit of the doubt. Sure enough I called them every 3 or 4 days and kept getting the response that they haven't heard from the owner yet. Dan Boyd, the associate broker is the one I've been dealing with. He has told me on more than one occasion that he will be calling me the next day and has been blowing me off consistently. Finally, after I contacted him he told me he heard from the owner and she agreed to give me halfback. ?????????. It's like taking it half way out of my a*s. He said the owner would be mailing a check in and when they got it I would get a call. On Friday he said it should be here on Monday and he'll give me a call on Tuesday. Well Tuesday came and went and Friday came along and I called him. "Oh, yeah we got it. I was just about to give you a call. Let us cash it and make sure it goes through and when it does I'll call you." It has now been a week since they were suppose to cash it and no call. A grown man and associate broker for weeks not returning my phone calls as promised.

The amount in question is $275. Am I supposed to get a lawyer? Be realistic. I can't really do anything but file a complaint with the state. I'll be picketing out there on Monday the 28th if anyone in AZ cares to join me. If Dan would have just returned my calls... I knew something was up right away so I guess that is just wishful thinking. The real estate industry is a service industry. RSVP has terrible service. Take a look at their website and listings. You would think a good company that has been around since the 70s would have more than 15 or so listings. These aren't luxury homes here folks. RSVP is a never was company and now I know why.

GO WITH BREWER CALDWELL. The company I leased for. Contact Travis Bohling is you want a home to rent in Phoenix. This place is a joke.
