Radio Shack ripoff the business that doesn't give a dam Palatine Illinois
We needed a new AC Adapter for our computer and went to Radio Shack. The associate recommended a particular unit which, after taxes, etc., set us back $80+.
Within a week, the unit wasn't working properly so we took it back. The store recommended an exchange - but then they discovered they didn't have any in stock. They then said we should really buy "the right unit" which would set us back $120+. At first we agreed but then . . .
We reached the counter and the associate informed us that he wouldn't take back the original broken unit because we didn't have the box. I'll admit that on the back of their sales receipt in very small type, it says that you need the original packaging - but get real. We had the leather pouch and all the pieces - and the unit didn't work!!
The associate told us that they needed the box so that they could restock the item "as new" - a future rip-off!
Finally, I went to their website and filed a complaint - they haven't even had the courtesy to respond!
No more radio shack in my future!!

Dont judge all Radio Shack because of one idiot that would be like getting some bad milk for example and saying I will never drink milk again. My boyfriend owns a Radio Shack He would have taken your purchase back.Sounds like you just dealt with a idiot. You should have report it to the main office.
