Stay away from any Radioshack if you can! Products not trust worthy. Manufacturers don't even know Radioshack as their distributor when I dropped off a brand new Compact laptop for repair!! I bought this laptop for six months, six months it stayed at repair center, when they finally agree to exchange a new one, it just getting better and better.

I told the store manger to open the new one for me, he did but the new laptop can't even get to window mode!! What a joke!! And all the time they bugged me to buy their warrantee. I was pissed!! I took it to small claim court and won the case. Got all my money back but so are the time that I wasted.

Be warn!! Fellas, I think we should set up a website that report and reward good company and products out there, anyone with me?

They have always stood firmly behind their products, and have always been knowledgeable and professional. I would provide a specific response, but I can hardly understand your message.

First, you say that "Manufacturers don't even know Radioshack as their distributor..." without providing any evidence or a clear explanation of why you say this. Since you specified "Compact laptop" I assume you are claiming that Compaq, which was recently merged with Hewlett-Packard, does not recognize RadioShack as a distributor. This is clearly a mistake, as they have a long-standing affiliation with one-another, and RadioShack purchases their systems directly from Compaq.

I also don't understand why you would have taken a "brand new" system in for repair. If it was defective when you purchased it, you should not have been required to use RadioShack's repair services.

I have also never known RadioShack to keep a new item, especially a computer, in for repairs for six months. If it was something that they could repair, they would have done so and returned it quickly. If there was a problem in communication with you, or some other problem not related to the repair work, that might have been delayed. If the system could not be repaired, but was recently purchased from RadioShack, then they would have replaced it, in accordance with their policies. If you had purchased the system elsewhere, or had owned the system for some time and it was not under warranty, then they would have offered you alternative options, most likely including the return of the unrepaired laptop without any charges.

Additionally, it seems highly unlikely that they would have returned the system as "repaired" when it was not repaired. They do test the systems to ensure that they are repaired. If the store manager discovered that the system did not work, they would have either correctly diagnosed and possibly repaired the problem, or they would have returned the system for it to be correctly repaired. They certainly would not have told you it "can't even get to window mode" since all RadioShack employees are trained to be more computer literate than that.

If you were having so much trouble with your computers, you probably should have agreed to buy the warranty. It would have offered you future protection. It is their job to offer that warranty to you. They don't want to have to deal with you wanting them to fix a system that is out of warranty. It is in the best interest of their business to sell you that warranty.

No matter what transpired in the store, if you have ever had to take RadioShack to court, you've made a mistake somewhere along the line. RadioShack works hard to ensure the satisfaction of their customers. Although employees will make mistakes occasionally, if you follow a reasonable process, the company will make sure that the problem is corrected.

As one final point, I must ask for an explanation of your argument that "Radioshack rip-off cheated employees" as I do not see any explanation of how that is so anywhere in your message.
