Occassionally I like to go to a nice club for a drink and in this city, the Radisson, formerly Hyatt, is about the only nice, and I used to think, "respectable," place to do so.

I've live in Whittier since 1968, off/on due to military svc., and frequent the Hotels Lounge about once a month. They know me there and always have treated me with indifference and apprehension assuming I am gay; I am, but I have never attempted or intended to excerise a play on anyone there. I like to make jokes and laugh and share with whom ever is there, male or female that would like to talk and shoot the crap, so to speak. I get lonely- I've been single and inactive sexually for many years.

On the 30th of June 2005 I went to the Hotel to have a last cocktail before a taxi home. I was met at the bar with the always rude-to-me mgr, pointing and shaking his finger at me with a warning of some kind. He obviously, to me, is homophobic, and I gotta tell you, I am not really an obvious gay.

I always drink back-bar and frankly wonder why so much intolerance. After receiving a double Martini and giving my CC to hold, as usual, the mgr began harassing me again. I mentioned that I really didn't appreciate his attude toward me and he left the bar and called the police stating that I was drunk and disorderly.

I am 54 yrs old and have PTSD (Military) and spinal arthritis; I take care of my parents, one with Alzheimers and the other bent over with pain and suffers from osteroarthritis; they have some in home svc's but that takes care of little.

I spent 2 wks in jail away from home and devastated by LA County Jail and its occupants. I am on SSI/SDI and did not have the bail for bond.

I am truly saddened and at odds with the intolerance and pettiness of such great & straight heros protecting society from people like me. I am a mbr of The Wall Of Tolerance, NAACP, ACLU, and more. I could not think of anything else to do but report this to your much appreciated Website. Thank You.
