I purchased a Rainsoft water treatment system through Home Depot in 2007. We were told about the warranty of the machine and what things came with it. They told us that we had a lifetime warranty on the conditioning elements and we had a 10yr warranty on the mechanical parts. I call to have someone come and service the machine because it stopped working. After paying top dollar for the machine, we are being charged $125 for the first 1/2 hr of service. They also told me that it was time to change the carbon in the carbon tank which was never told to us that we had to do when we purchased it. They are charging $99 to change it. he said they have tried to make contact with me about changing the carbon but I told them that was a lie. They had only contacted me about the yearly $125 svc maintanace and for salt. They only want to give me a 10% discount on total svc fee but for the money we pay for these machine, It should not be that expensive. I will make sure not to purchase or even refer anyone to them.
