Complaint Review: Rajiv Rana / Sanjana Rana

Rajiv rana advertised a $4600 house on craigslist at 559 thain way palo alto ca 94306 with good photos and signed up for rental without knowing false advertising

but on finding the property he requested 13800$ instead of standard 1 month deposit sounds fishy

but then i started and signed the lease on the 12th of the month requesting starting from 15th a normal practise for people moving to the area

he said it needs to start on the 1st even though i am starting to move on the 15th  ; i had read bad reviews on his property on review site sand craigslist but i was running out of time and had to move so i sign the lease with his usurious illegal terms

then on the day i move in i find the place infected with roaches and smells of putrid unclean odors and lots of dust and dirt and the toiltets and flushes dont work the taps dont work and the house smells like it is extremely rat and infested never cleaned

So i didnt move any of the stuff inside so i report to rajiv rana and request my lease be terminated 

he refuses to accept my keys and drags around for a 5 days and then sends a lawyer notice saying he will not terminate the lease unless 55200 is paid and he will not refund the deposit  alll this for 1 day of signing for the lease and terminating immediately 

RAJIV rana is a fradulent land lord and has created extremely bad experiences for his victims ie he finds poor immigrants and graduate students and tricks them 

PLEASE BE AWARE HIS WIFE SANJANA RANA is fully aware and supports and abets and aids this ongoing scam landlord and predatory practises
