On May 6th, 2013 Rakuten.com (formerly buy.com) was offering a 20x Super Points promotion on ALL ORDERS.  I've had a buy.com account for many years but had not purchased from them in a long while but still received their emails.  I decided to give them a try again since they were offering the 20x promotion.  I purchased an expensive camera lens from them for $2099 and was sent an email that said "Congratulations, you just earned 41980 Rakuten Super Points on this order!".  My account was showing that I had 41980 Super Points pending.  On May 10th, I noticed my Super Points pending had been reduced to 25000 super points.  I called and spoke to a Rakuten.com representative.  The representative acknowledged the 20x offer and their acknowledgement email that stated I earned those points.  They said they would look into it.  Rakuten.com then sent me an email stating that I would only received 25000 Super points and to look at their "terms and condition".

During the entire online purchase transaction I was continuously affirmed that I was receiving the 41980 super points and felt confident that I would receive those points when I received my order acknowledgement stating that I earned 41980 Super Points.  As of May 17th, it still shows that I have only 25000 super points pending.  Rakuten.com should honor their promotions!  They should not put out a promotion that says "TREAT YOURSELF AND GET 20% BACK IN SUPER POINTS ON ALL ORDERS" and then fail to honor the points!

There wasn't any asterisks attached to the promotion.  At no point was I directed to their "terms and conditions" throughout the transaction.

Every website has offers and most of the time they have an asterisk so you can see the details. Did you miss that part? What do the term & conditions state?
