Partially my bad but not completely. I had some problems with my bank and I guess I had written a 12 dollar check to Ralphs and it bounced. I moved to a different city soon after and my phone has been off and on. I sent a forwarding address to my last house and have been recieving my mail at my new place. Well today I get a letter from a check restitution center telling me to call them, my 12 dollar fee is now 205 and I have to take a 10 day class because I didn't respond to my previous letters telling me I had bounced a check. I NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING! I have been going through drawers/boxes/files all day and I have nothing from Ralphs or Krogen. I don't know what to do, they are even threatening criminal charges, a 1000 dollar fine and a court date But I never receIved anything I swear. I LOOKED FOR A PLACE TO DISPUTE IT ON THE LETTER AND IT SAYS THEY ONLY TAKE ACTION WHEN THE COMPANY PURSUING THEIR MONEY HAVE TRIED TO REACH ME WITHOUT ANY ANSWER SO THERE IS NO DISPUTING. Like I said though, I have not gotten anything. At least not at this new address. I was laid of from my job (hence my moving) and trying to get a new one started and paying all these crazy bills I do not have 200 bucks to pay on a 12 dollar check. I tried calling and all I recieve are automated systems and answering machines and I think I have left about 6 messages. Ralphs will send you to the District Attourney's Office without warning. My fault for the bounce but come on. I don't have time for the class or the money to spend and now I have to go through this other company. Frustrating and clueless as what to do.

Made Arrangements

#2REBUTTAL Individual responds

I had made arrangements with the kroger when I was going to pay them. Then two weeks later I get a letter from the district attorneys office. I had called kroger and told them that I made the arrangement and they stated that I had to pay it in 90 days and when I made the arrangements they never told me that I had to pay a specific before it was turned to the district attorney. I can believe the changes they are trying to get away with. I am the only person working. My husband is on social security due to his health. I can not afford 251.50 for a 56.00 dollar check. Kroger refuses to work with me.
