In August 2005 we were approached with what seemed like a wonderful offer and we receive a letter stating "congratulations on your smart decision to travel with Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacations, we are delighted to welcome you into our travel family" - too good to be true, it has been a nightmare since. We live in South Africa, and the trip to the USA would have been our first.

They offered us Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Theme parks, Disney, Sea World and even Universal, there was a car from Alamo and an optional cruise, plus a freedom certificate. We paid over $998 and received no receipt.

We had enough time to select the period we wanted to travel on and we also decided that we should not do the trip alone but invite our friends along. We confirmed the bookings for January 2007 and todate we have not received any confirmation of our fax message. We also decided that whilst we were there, we might as well take the

Ramada - Imperial Majesty Vacation Ripoff

#2Consumer Comment

Sat, October 14, 2006

September 2003 after returning from Vegas, I
received a call from the Ramada Vacation offering me a vacation package(pkg).

I gave them my credit card info.
After reconsidering, I called to cancel, and
was persuaded to wait a yr. to reconsider. After
a yr. I called again to cancel at that time Ramada offered an extension of 2yrs.

I realized that I wouldn't be able use the pkg.
and waited for a mailing to remind me of the
deadline to use the pkg. After examining the
pkg. and realized that the pkg. had expired
a few months ago.

I called Ramada Vacations to request a refund.
Shawn told me that I wouldn't be able to get
a refund but, by sending them an additional
$400. the pkg. would be available whenever
I wanted to use it. I asked him to send
me a written verification of the above mention
request. He told me that the only way that
could happen would be for me to send additional
money. Unfortunately the vacation experts were
able to persuade me to wait on the use the
vacation pkg. I never used any parts of the
pkg. and got caught up in a form of scam.
