Complaint Review: Ramada Plaza Resorts

I got a refund after the 3 days to cancel in the back of the booklet and after the 30 day cancellation period allowed by Florida.

I tried almost everything suggested as posted by others on this website. Here are the things I did and what didn't work and what I think actually worked (it's hard to tell what worked when I tried several things at the same time):

1. Call customer service line and asked to "cancel" my package and never mentioned the word "refund": I spoke to two different reps and one supervisor, I was persistent but to no avail.

2. Call credit card company to dispute charge: Chase credit card company wouldn't call Ramada Plaza Resorts with me on the phone. I had to file a written dispute with Chase and their written reply was to review the merchant's cancellation policy. Since then, I have stopped giving my business to Chase. I think Discover and MBNA credit card companies have a better consumer protection program.

3. Fax letters requesting refund to Dan Lambert and Gina Johns to 3 different fax numbers (only two numbers were good): I got a letter back from Dan Lambert refusing to issue refund. Later, I got a letter from Gina Johns issuing a refund!!! I checked my credit card statement and saw the refund credited on the same day the letter was dated.

4. File complaint with Fl. Dept of Ag & Comsumer Serives Division of Consumer Services, I got a letter from the agency saying my complaint has been forwarded to Ramada Plaza Resorts. A week later, I did get a refund and I'm pretty sure this is what worked.
