I got scammed from the Ramada Plaza Resorts. I called them and their pushy sales agents got me and asked for my credit card before I had time to think. They took $399 off my credit card for a deposit. I called an hour later asking for a refund and they rudely said no. I tried calling several times talking to different people and they won't do it.
Please help!!!

You can definitely get your money back from Ramada Plaza Resorts

Dsosa,

You can definitely get you money back from RPR. In fact, if you request a refund within 30 days of the purchase RPR is required to refund your money per the Florida Sellers of Travel Act. Do not call the "customer service" line anymore. Those people will not help you as they do not know what they are doing and are probably not even authorized to give refunds.

If you are requesting a refund within 30 days, send a letter to both the President, James Verrillo, and the Vice President, Daniel Lambert, of RPR demanding a refund based on the above-mentioned act. This should get them to respond quickly. In order to ensure that they pay attention, you may also want to file a report with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. If you do, be sure to mention it in your letter.

If your refund comes after the 30 days, you can still get your money back. I received a refund even though I requested it a month prior to the expiration of my vacation package (about a year and a half after I purchased the package). In order to get your money back in this case, I would file the complaint with Consumer Services first, and then write the letter to RPR. RPR violates several statues of the Florida state laws, so just include these in your letter as support. Consumer Services will contact RPR for you and ask for a resolution of the complaint. RPR is required to respond within 60 days I believe.

When writing my complaint letters, I used as a template one a previous victim had posted on this website several years ago (it is really good). Also, I looked up the text of the Florida Sellers of Travel Act and a statute regarding Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices and cited exactly how they had violated these statutes.

Hopefully you will get your money back quickly. Good luck!
