I too am a victim to this unbelievable scam put together by Ramada Plaza Resorts and I have lost close to $1500 in total because I had no idea how to get out of this mess at the time of purchase. I am still in the process of fighting for my money but I have discovered recently that even though there have been thousands of complaints made on different websites regarding this company, only very few people have took the time to make official complaints to the Florida State authorities. I believe that there is a way out of this and we must work together to shut down this scamming business before they hurt anyone else. Even if I don't get my money back, I just want to see justice done with this company.

I strongly urge all those who have been placed in a similar situation to take the following actions to put a stop to Ramada's scamming ways!

1.Visit the following websites and make a written complaint against Ramada
a)http://www.800helpfla.com/complnt.html
b)https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

2.Call the following line and make a verbal complaint, explain in details what had been done to you:
Consumer Services Hotline:
1-800-HELP-FLA (435-7352) - Florida only
1-800-FL-AYUDA (352-9832) - En Espaol
850-488-2221 - Calling from outside of Florida

There are some of the Florida regulations Ramada has failed to follow through:
1.Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act
2.Failing to honor cancellation and refund requests from consumers
3.The consumer may also cancel if the accommodations and facilities are not available as provided in the contract

Things to note:
Florida law gives the consumer some protection in the matter of cancellations, by providing that a contract for a vacation certificate may be canceled in writing within 30 days of purchase or receipt of the vacation certificate. The consumer may also cancel if the accommodations and facilities are not available as provided in the contract.

If a travel package is not a vacation certificate, then the law requires that the consumer be informed that it is non-refundable before making any payment or signing a contract.

Keep in mind with regard to cancellations: the entire amount involved is refundable. Unethical sellers of travel may offer to refund all but a certain amount, but they are required to refund the full amount paid to the seller of travel, if the consumer cancels the vacation package, in writing and returns the vacation package, within 30 days of purchase or receipt of the vacation package.

This is in answer to to the traveler from Ontario, Canada. During the audio receipt, produced by the verifier, they state clearly that this is non refundable AFTER, the statutory limit set forth by the state in which you live. This is agreed upon by the consumer at that time. This is when they give their concerns, and this is also in black and white on their travel documents once received. We clearly inform all travelers of this.
