I got a special promotion to have a 8 days/7 nights vacation at "exclusive and first class" resort. The offer seemed tempting because Ramada Plaza Resorts offered to pay $1600 of the total expenses.
I paid a total of $1400 for two people. What we got was a room in a cheap and old hotel, a small (with no trunk) car and the headache of having to drive long distances to get our vouchers for hotel and ship.

I did some research on the real cost for the services I bought and found that:

1) The first hotel had a daily rate of $79 (per room) = 240 + $16 in taxes that is not included in the initial price.

2) The rate for the car didn't include insurance $200 extra.

3) The cruise is an old ship (build in 1954) with 3rd class accomodations.

4) The tickets to Universal require to hear a second sales pitch for a minimum of 90 minutes.

5) The second hotel daily rate was $85 (per room) = 170 + 13 in taxes.

In summary I could have arranged this trip by myself paying no more than $1000.

Of course, these tricky people don't mention to you that:

i. You have to drive to their welcome center to get the vouchers of a hotel.

ii. They will hold the vouchers for the ship until you spend a minimum of 4 hours hearing their sales pitch on the second day of your vacation

iii. They will also hold the vouchers for the second hotel (in Orlando) until you go the second welcome center and hear their offer for the second sales pitch.
