I am attempting to possibly head off a potential problem. I am one who has scheduled a trip through Ramada Plaza resorts. I will say that all of the issues I have read, have been addressed with me prior, such as the condo sales pitch, time in Nassau, rental car size and so on. I am just looking for any help in getting through to these people should something come up. My wife is in the legal field, and I can assure you that if we have problems, legal action is not out of the question. I have upgraded numerous parts of this vacation as a surprise to her, so hopefully it is not money ill spent. Any reply would be appreciated.

Hey Paul - here is my posting from my ordeal with the contact information that helped me::::

Ok, I know my story was huge, but it paid off! I sent this lengthy ripoff report to my Attny General Richard Blumenthal and the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Consumer Services Mr Charles H Bronson and, of course, Ramada Plaza Resorts. I did get $1200 which is better than nothing!!! They refunded me the initial trip charges of $598 per person. I am thrilled and wanted to share the information with you all and hopefully you can have the same luck I did. Hey - I got this all done within a MONTH!

Maybe I spoke too soon, originator of this complaint

I, again, am Paul, the originator of this complaint. My wife just called Ramada Plaza regarding our refund. She was told they do not issue refunds, only rebooks. She, after a few explitives, told them they had the email letter from the attorney general, along with a letter from our attorney, and she said yes, but they dont give refunds!!

She demanded to speak with a supervisor, and after 15 minutes, hung up. Within minutes, I received a call at my work, from Angela, the supervisor, who said that my wife hung up, and I explained, that after 15 minutes, that we figured we were being ignored, and called our attorney.

She told me that the letter from the attorney general was also in hand, and that the complaint department forwarded it to the vice president, Jim Verillo, and that he would be contacting me.

I can just hear it now, "You can rebook for a later date, but we do not give refunds" I have emailed the Florida assistant Attorney General again explainig this, and hope to hear back soon. As of right now, still have not received a call from Jim. Will keep you posted!!!!

I am Paul, the original writer of this rip off statement. Taking the advis of both Michele and Robert, I emailed the attorney general of Florida, and also sent 2 emails to Ramada.com regarding misrepresentation. I than called consumer services at 850-410-3600 and was told how to file a grevience.

I was informed that if I in fact took the vacation, than complained later, I would only receive a $200 refund. I was told that they have "not had a problem with Ramada refunds" when filed through them in advance to the trip. As I was starting to file the complaint online, I received an email.

I paused to check it and BEHOLD. It was from the attorney general!! Stating my complaint has been handled, package cancelled and a refund was forthcoming!!!!

Right now I am waiting for a reply for a cancellation # of some sorts, but because of the help I received from this web site, I avoided headaches, legal problems, and most of all, losing nearly $2,000. THANK YOU, THANK YOU , THANK YOU!!!!

Just don't go...

I went last February (read my horrible ordeal on here) and take my advise - DON'T GO - DON'T SPEND ANYMORE MONEY - GET THE MONEY YOU HAVE SPENT BACK! Upgrades mean nothing. The trip is horrible, the hotels are horrible and the so called cruise ship is even worse. Do a search on Rip-Off-Reports on RAMADA and read the stories - if you want to take the time, read mine posted on or around February 18th - that will be your best glimpse from begining to end of this terrible vacation. The money you dumped into a Ramada Plaza Resort get-away is money wasted. For the same amount, or less, you can plan a beautiful REAL vacation and cruise with a reputible cruise line.

Good luck with your decision! ;o)
