Ramada Plaza Resorts ripoff con artist fake ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida
I received this voucher in the mail about a very nice vacation to Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale Florida from Ramada Plaza Resorts. I took the offer and three days later decided to go onto the internet to see how far our room would be from some of the sites we wanted to see, when this "Rip OFF" page of numerous complaints against Ramada Plaza Resorts came to my attention.
I didn't like what I saw, so I called and tried to cancel my vacation package with Ramada. They told me that I couldn't get my money back. I told them I would call my credit card and have them dispute the account and their response was they didn't care, they already had my money.
The guy sat there on the phone and argued with me and then my husband. I was told before that if I wanted to cancel, I would be getting a full refund, but now they are saying that it is only transferable.
Basically, all I can do is try and sell this awful package to someone else to get my money back. I wouldn't put my worst enemy through the problems I have been put through trying to get my money back.
I am a house wife with a husband and child that was really looking forward to seeing sites in Florida, but won't get to if our money doesn't get refunded. I am normally very careful, but being a well known company that Ramada is, I knew they exsisted and really thought we could trust them.
I was told to act fast on this package, or I wouldn't be able to get it. I know now the best thing to do when someone says you have to act right then, is to decline from their offer. They don't want you to have time to check them out.
You can't trust anyone anymore.

I live in Texas and was almost sucked into one of their promotions. Within one day of signing up, I too felt like there was a problem and checked with the Office of the Attorney General in Florida.
This company has been under investigation for some time. I also contacted the Attorney General in Texas (where I live) and they too have this company under investigation and caution Texas consumers about turning over their money to them.
One quick call to the company telling them I was prepared to notify the Attorney General of the State of Texas and I had a immediate refund with no hassles.

You can read my "hell" with this so-called company, Ramada Plaza Resorts (last updated 3/21/02). The last guy that is RETURNING, well, all I have to say to you is that you must be pretty hard up for a vacation to find this thing even remotely enjoyable.....
Here is what I did to get my MUCH DESERVED money back:
I sent the lengthy ripoff report to my Attny General Richard Blumenthal (from Connecticut) and the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Consumer Services Mr Charles H Bronson and, of course, Ramada Plaza Resorts. I did get $1200 which is better than nothing!!! They refunded me the initial trip charges of $598 per person. I am thrilled and wanted to share the information with you all and hopefully you can have the same luck I did. Hey - I got this all done within a MONTH!

Don't give up! I returned from this hell trip (yes, I actually WENT) on February 16th and had a refund by March 11th!!

Last year I received the vacation solicitation from Ramada plaza Resorts and accepted. I spent about $1000 and had a most enjoyable trip to Orlando, Fl then Palm Beach Shores, FL and finally a 4-day, 3-night cruise on Carnival lines to Nassau, Bahamas. Everything was as represented.
The catch is that the acceptor must take a no obligation tour of the Vacation Villagr Resort in Orlando (time share sales pitch) which included a delightful lunch in Disney/s Town, Celebration. Included were two tickets to Epcot Center.
My wife and I bought a 2-bedroom unit because it is an RCI Gold Crown property and was offered at a very attractive price.
This spring I was again contacted by Ramada Plaza Resorts and will be repeating the trip at 1/2 of last year's cost. We leave next Wednesday, Aug. 14.
While it may be a hassel to obtain a refund, the offer is genuine and of good value. I do not consider it a rip off. If others are disgruntled, then so be it. I am quite pleased with Ramada Plaza Resorts.
