Upon arrival, we checked in at the welcome center, at which time we were offered a free diner cruise if we attended a 90 min. tour, which required a $40.00 cash deposit. We took this offer.

After checking in, we were given a room on the 4th floor, room 411. Exiting the elavator, we smelled a musty/damp odor. Our room had a much stronger odor. Our air conditioner didn't work, had maintance come fix it. The water in the toilet was and stayed yellow after using it.

We also felt wetness in the room, but figured it was the weather. Later that night, our toilet wouldn't flush. Called the front desk and requested a new room. They wanted me to come down stairs and get a new key. I said no, I was in my pajamas and needed them to bring it up. A new key was brought up and we moved our stuff to room 424. This room too had a moist/damp odor, and had the fixtures in the room rusting.

The next day we left our room and didn't return until later that evening. At that time I noticed the clothes that I had hanging up, were all damp due to the moisture in the room, in addition to the clothes in the dresser. The walls in the room were damp with moisture, along with the carpet and bathroom floors being damp.

The next day I went to visit my brother and explained to him about the hotel, and he said that this problem is not due to the weather, and is not normal. Upon arriving back to the hotel, I called the front desk, and spoke to the manager on duty(6-11-03) I explained the problem, and he asked us to meet with him downstairs so he could show us other rooms.

The only rooms avalible were smoking rooms, so they smelled like smoke. (I'm a non-smoker) we took room 154. We took the manager up to room 424, and he saw this problem and said that it was not normal.

On 6-12, we had to drive to Palm Beach for the tour which lasted 4 hours. We told them up front that we were not going to purchase anything but continued to hound us into buying this timeshare. The tour guide reffered to having sex on numerious occations, I found this to be very unprofessional and offensive! I want my money back!

I, too, went on the hell trip - and came back determined and angry to get back the money I wasted! I sent a lengthy ripoff report (which is posted on this site) to my Attny General Richard Blumenthal and the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Consumer Services Mr Charles H Bronson and, of course, Ramada Plaza Resorts. I did get $1200 which is better than nothing!!! They refunded me the initial trip charges of $598 per person. I am thrilled and wanted to share the information with you and hopefully you can have the same luck I did. Hey - I got this all done within a MONTH!
