I was sold what I thought was a beautiful vacation, including a 2 day cruise to the Bahamas on a beautiful cruise ship. I felt uneasy and checked around only to find that the beautiful cruise ship is actually a very old ship and not all that nice.

I called the company back to say that we would not be able to use a cruise and a wanted a refund. They said that they would not refund anything but offered to change it to a land only tour including Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. They also made the tickets to Universal Studios VIP tickets (2 of them) and increased the availability time to 3 years.

After checking further into this, I believed that I had bought into a scam. I phoned (back in May 2005) within 10 days and asked for a refund and I was told it was not refundable. I tried with my credit card company to say I was scammed, but they would not deal with it. They suggested I phone the company to try again, which I did, with no satisfaction.

Now, over a year later, I find they are calling me again wondering when I am going to use this package and pay the additional money that I was supposed to pay when arranging the actual dates. I do not want to use this vacation as I feel I have been misled.

People have said that they contacted various people or groups in order to get a refund. I phoned them back and they said it was too late because it has been over a year. When I reminded them that I called within the 10 day period to cancel, they said that they have no record of that - imagine that.

Has anyone successfully got a refund after over a year? If so, do you have any advice or steps that I can follow to try and get my money back?
