Three years ago I fell for the same scam!! Once I got my package (video and accessories), I realised I would have to pay other fees (food, taxes, travel, etc.). On the phone, the agent "forgot" to tell me about the other costs. I summed it up to a very expensive mistake and told them I would not be travelling.

A year and a half ago, they call me and ask why I haven't travelled and asked if I wanted an extension. I said NO because I am from Northern Canada and it would cost me a "kidney" just to fly 2 people to Ft. Lauderdale. The lady thanked me and told me to have a nice day.

Last night, I recieve a phone call from Ramada telling me I owe more money!!!!!!! This is 3 years later!!!!! They told me my trip was expired and they expect me to pay more money!! I told them to go to hell and if they wanted to talk to someone, I would be happy to give them my Lawyers phone number.

I have contacted my lawyer and I am SO HAPPY I found this site. It gives me hope that not only will I not have to pay, I may get my $1200 CDN back!!! Thanks and I will update!!!

Yours in desperate appreciation!!

I GOT MY REFUND TODAY JANUARY 28, 2003!!!!

I don't know how or why, but today I received my refund in full!! When I wrote this forum back in October 2002, I had given up. Sueing the company would have cost me a fortune - I live in Northern Canada and couldn't receive help from my lawyer because it was US based and I would have to seek advise from an american lawyer.

Today I received a cheque (yes, it's real....) for the amount of $698US which works out to be almost $1200CDN.

To any other Canadians out there who are victims, DON'T GIVE UP!!! All I did was call Ramada and demand my money back or they would hear from my lawyers. They were totally unwilling to give me a refund. Well, something must have happened because almost 4 years later, I got my money back!!!

I think I will do something smart with my money - maybe take a "real" vacation - I hear Jamaica is nice this time of year!!
