Ramada Plaza Resorts scams another traveler Ft. Lauderdale Florida
I ignorantly sent $598 to Ramada to secure a trip of a lifetime. When I called Ramada for information, I received conflicting information (like the hotel is on the beach, its 15 min away, and its 25 min away). Unfortunately, I don't have a good feeling about the whole situation, and our trip is scheduled for Jan 2003. Anyway to get my money back? I am aware of the 3-day clause in small print, that was in the pkt that I originally received in May. At that time I was out of state and it was weeks before I opened it.

You can read my "hell" with this so-called company, Ramada Plaza Resorts (last updated 3/21/02)
Here is what I did:
I sent the lengthy ripoff report to my Attny General Richard Blumenthal (from Connecticut) and the Commissioner of the Florida Department of Consumer Services Mr Charles H Bronson and, of course, Ramada Plaza Resorts. I did get $1200 which is better than nothing!!! They refunded me the initial trip charges of $598 per person. I am thrilled and wanted to share the information with you all and hopefully you can have the same luck I did. Hey - I got this all done within a MONTH!

#3Consumer Suggestion
Wed, October 02, 2002
I recently posted a success story in regards to dealing with Ramada Resorts. My mother was duped into a $698 deposit for a trip.
After I did some research she no longer felt the vacation was worth it. However, by the time she told me about her deposit it was 6 months later. First, we called Ramada Resorts and asked for a refund, of course they said no.
So I then sent a written letter to the president listed on all their literature and explained how my mother felt duped and mislead by their sales reps.
My mother recently received a letter back stating she will be credited her initial deposit.
Suggestion--write a letter demanding a refund..
