Ramada Plaza Resorts Vacation Scam ripoff Ft. Lauderdate Florida
I have just read all the comments about this Scam and am not really sure what I should do next. I have allowed this company to charge my cc 398.99 for a "Dream Vacation" package. It only happened 3 nights ago so I can probably cancel it today. Just wondering if anyone has actually gone on this dream vacation and how bad it really was...I mean what should I expect for $199.99 per person. I was planning on taking our children but now I am sure that I wouldn't, Just in case. The main reason I would want to go is for the Bahamas cruise, however, if we can't really enjoy the Bahamas, what is the point??
This is what we were promised...
3 days, 2 nights in Ft. Lauderdale (excellent food included)
3 days, 2 nights Bahamas cruise on the Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines, inside state room, cabin stewart at our beck and call, $50 casino dollars to spend on board, all meals included. (Have to pay $59 pp for port charges before boarding)
3 days, 2 nights in Orlando
7 day car rental with unlimited mileage.
**Children under 12 no cost for everything except for the cruise $99 per child**
Of course we would have to get there so we told the sales person's manager that we live in a small centre and airfare is somewhat expensive, so they also promised us a 3 day, 4 night vacation in Puerta Vallarta or 3 day 2 night in las Vegas as well. We were given up to 18 months to book and they require a 60 day notice before travelling. I was told that I would receive the package in the mail within a week and I would get the online version via email. I have yet to receive anything in my email and am now considering calling the 1-800 # and cancelling.

My husband and I took this vacationn in 2002. It was wedding gift from his mom, and we used it as the honeymoon. It's not that bad, as long as you know what to expect. You are not getting five star acommodations, here. Frankly, I think the people who think they are going to get the Ritz, and then are upset because they get Holiday Inn, are naive. I know the sales people lead you to believe the package is something it isn't, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
When we took the trip, our hotel was right on the ocean in Ft. Lauderdale. We did have to stay at another hotel the first night because RPR had over booked the hotel. We stayed at a Holiday Inn, and let me tell you, the hotel RPR had set up was much nicer!
The cruise ship was a joke, but we just made the best of it, and had a nice time. I suggest booking a shore excursion. They're expensive, but worth it.
Our hotel in Orlando was GREAT!
Keep in mind that you will have to attend time share presentations to get your vouchers for the next leg of your stay. My husband and I somehow got out of that, though. We were lucky. I guess his mom worked that out for us.
Just go and have a good time. We laughed at any inconveniences that came up, and that helped. Remember that you will be responsible for ALL taxes on the trip. This includes the hotel rooms, rental car, and cruise tax and port fees. You will also have to pay for parking at the cruise port. It's $12 a day.
