I wish that I could cancel my $1000 vacation package with Ramada Plaza Resorts. I've paid $400 so far. I have another six months to pay on it. Then I have to save up for the plane tickets to get there. ( plane tickets are not included in package).

The travel agency they suggest you use ( National Travel Agency 1-888-763-7932) IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS. That is what a customer represenative told me. I told him that another represenative told me that I HAD TO USE THE NATIONAL TRAVEL AGENCY in order to abide by the requirements, rules of the vacation package. When I told the represenative this he found a loop hole to talk me out of canceling. He said that I could use any travel agency considering the original travel angency had gone out of business.

It makes me wonder WHY DID THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS ? I was told that I could not cancel. I also told the represenative that I was moving and that my wife and I would have to use our vacation time to move and get settled in our new place. His response was that I could request more time off from work. When I told him that I could not do that He said he could put a note in my files stating that I needed to Extended the time on my vacation package from 2003 to 2005.

They said they have tried to be as cooperative with me as much as possible and that I'm not being nice, that I am refusing to work with them to make this vacion package work and I want to repay them by doing such an awful thing to them by canceling. I have called and spoke to a customer service represenative and asked to cancel my vacation package and they refuse to let me cancel. They always have an answer to your problems so there is no excuse that you give them that would allow them to cancel the package. I just don't think it is fair that a person can't cancel if they don't want it anymore. I think it is wrong how they talk to people and force them to do things .

I can't afford a lawyer. If I could afford a lawyer I would take them to court for strong arming me. I can barely afford the monthly dues that come out of my bank account. I could close the account. but I have too much trouble reopening an account . It would affect my direct deposit for my job. I do wish there is somebody out there that can help all of us ( who filed a rip-off report) against Ramada resort. We need help to stop them from taking advantage of anyone else and we need to get our money back. Since it is so hard to come by these days.

How to stop the payment

Rather than close your account, you can simply direct your bank to stop payment on the monthly debit to your account. Since they have been debiting your account, look at your last statement to see how the debit comes in including the account number, id number etc. You will need the exact amount of the debit and the approximate date that it comes out. Your bank can easily block the debit. Once the people at the Ramada get notice that they did not get their money, they will call you. You probably want to look at your contract to see if there is any verbiage that could present problems if you do this. Good luck
