I received a call on my PRIVATE landline from "Michael Andrews" a travel agent promoting Ramada Resorts & Walt Disney, claiming that i'd won 2 weeks' holiday for 4 people.  He went on to say i'd been selected from the online competition form id filled in, he knew my home address, my private landline number, full name, and email address.

For starters i DO NOT enter online competitons that require such detailed personal information.

As Michael Andrews spoke, i googled.  I could find no evidence of his registered travel agent number SL-2450, but the employment details of SOMEONE called Michael Andrews was easily accessible on linked-in, including the association with Walt Disney.

The fantastic holiday was going to be paid for by walt disney and ramada resorts as part of an international promotion.  He gave details of the resort chain, mentioned orlando & fort lauderdale (all on google).  The holiday also includes a 3 night cruise on the carribean.  I was then transferred to the " booking co-ordinator" Neil Harrison who needed to confirm the $689 charge to my visa...

These con artists are very well prepared, the conversation details seem to be scripted, and the fact that they had all my personal information was very disconcerting.

At multiple points of the phone call I asked for a land line to call them back on, this request was quickly evaded.

They are good, more convincing than most, and im afraid many people may have already been conned by them.

They got the shits after the 5th (or so) time i quizzed them on providing a land-line so I could verify the information; responding with anger then hanging-up.

I hope this information helps others.
