Hi, i got a phone call on the 12/7/04 from a lady in america stateing she was doing a servey on holidays the lady name was patrica obrein. she asked a few questions about how much did i spend on my last holidays and which credit card did i prefare to use. She then told me i was enterd into draw for a holiday to ramda plaza in florida and she would contact me with in 72hours if my name was picked.

On the 14/07/04 i got a phone call from a lady called sharlene baley. she told me my name was picked and we got a trip to florida for 4. She told me it was 11 nights in ramda plaza resort in florida and also 2 nights and days to the bahamas 2 tickets to disneyland and to universal studios. she siad the hole holiday would be $3380 but it would only cost us 720euro but we would have to make our own way there. She was very quick to tell us everything and even asked my parner to listen in. both my self and my parner was very excited that we got this, Then she asked for my credit card number but me being a gop s**t gave it to her but i asked her why she wanted it she siad it was procedure. But as we were talking she then siad my card would not accept because it is over the limit, thank god.

They said they would call me back on 19/07/04. for to pay 720euros to them to book it for us, but i never asked them to book it and i never thought for a second they were useing my credit card to do it. After i put the phone down we dicscuss it with my parner and we went to the internet to see the plaza and we seen RIPOFF PLAZA and we read it and now belive thats what was happing to us. but i am worried i gave them my credit card number please what should we do.

Cancel Your Card Immediately!

#3Consumer Suggestion

If I was in your position, I would just go ahead and cancel my credit card. Yes, it's a hassle to do that, but sometimes it's worth the hassle. Explain to the card company that your number has gotten into the wrong hands and you don't know what they plan to do with the information, so you'd like to cancel and be issued a new one.

This would be worth the inconvenience--as you would not worry about them charging your card in the future.

I've had to do this, and it was worth waiting for a few days for the new card. Good Luck.
