Back in January I was looking to buy a car. I found myself at Rany Reed Pontiac Buick in Gladstone Missouri. Previous visits there watned me that these guys were bad business, but against good judgement I went anyway.

I found a nice Pontiac 2dr and took it for a drive. By this time It's after 7 o'clock on Saturday. I told him that I would be back Monday night to more than likely buy the car. I got off work late Mon. so under the impression the deal was going through, i left a deposit so a better offer on Monday might be out of the question. I got a call Monday at work saying the deal with the banks fell through and my deposit would be returned to my card.

It is now the end of October and they have yet to return it to me...First denying the charges, then after me showing them on my statement, blowing me off every time i go in or call. The salesman went as far as saying..."I Don't Remember"

They have pawned me off to whom ever they can and I'm tired of it. The whole time saying "We'll do it right away."

You'd think 50 bucks would be the least of their worries coming down to this, I'm not sure anymore....I just want a fair deal

My name is Eric Gentry and I am the General Sales Manager for Randy Reed. To this date we have not received any further requests from this person. It is a shame that someone can come on here and make these claims and try to drag our reputation through the mud without anything to substantiate it. I will go on record saying that our company has a value system that is put into practice every single day by every employee from Mr. Reed all the way down to the people who clean the cars. We do things the right way, everyday!

Typically, a deposit is taken on deals that are not "spot delivered".

Rebuttal:
My name is Chris Harmon. I am one of the sales manager here at Randy Reed Pontiac. I am not aware of any person who has made a $50 claim against this dealership. He is right, a $50 claim is minimal compared to the damage that bad press can cause.

Typically, a deposit is taken on deals that are not "spot delivered". A "spot delivery" is a deal in which the finance manager allows the customer to take possession of the vehicle
while the finance department tries to arrange financing. Bad credit, which is becoming more common, would be a reason that a deal would not be spot delivered. When a car is not released due to credit problems, a deposit is taken to lock up the car for the customer. The deposit is refundable only if the finance department cannot arrange financing for the customer. Arranging financing for a person with bad or terrible credit can take a lot of time and effort. This person, I can only assume, was
approved by one of the lenders we use. The customer may not like the terms that his or her credit merit them, but an approval by a second chance lender or a last chance lender means that we have done our job for this credit challenged person making the deposit non-refundable.

I would like to know who took this deposit AND the salesperson's name so that I may handle this with the customer. You may be asking the wrong person for a refund.

After, the money is refunded to the customer, I will address with him or her the taping of this article to the doors of this business and also the fact that this article was not in an area marked for auto dealers---it was in a category marked for sex shops. Relating this dealership to sex shops is SLANDER. You may call me Mon-Thurs 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. ---

I can tell now why he wanted me to give him at least $200 cash even, but I said no way to that one. You'd think 50 bucks would be the least of their worries coming down to this, I'm not sure anymore....I just want a fair deal
