Complaint Review: Rapid Data Recovery

I had purchased a new laptop and within 6 weeks (without backing up) my hard drive failed.  Rapid Data Recovery / Fields data recovery website says they can recover data that other companies can't starting at 199.00.  I shipped my hard drive off to St Louis to Todd Taylor for data recovery.

He was helpful and informative up to the point where I declined their charge of 879.00 to recover 32G of data, most of it pictures, I told him no thanks, no worth it, please return my hard drive, I really needed data from certain directories and told him what those were.  He came back to me with a cost of around 700 to do more work and recover the data I really needed.  I again said no thanks, please return my hard drive.

I have called repeatedly these last three weeks, always getting voice mail, and my messages are not returned.  I have emailed 3 times, my emails are not returned.  I have been emailing Todd Taylor directly.  Dell sent me a new hard drive, but I need to return the defective hard drive to them, but cannot, because fields data recovery will not return my hard drive.

Check the net and better business bureau, other rip off reports before using a data recovery service,  this business is a rip off, if you want to pay almost 1000.00 to recover some pictures when their website says their price starts at 200, and you don't care to ever have your hard drive back, go ahead.

I am filing a complaint with any entity I can think of against this business, and emailing Todd Taylor once again with the information.  Maybe then I can get a response.
