Ray Carter Kia Will not cover blown engine due to sludge Jacksonville Florida
I have a 2005 Kia Sedona and took it in to the dealer for a tuneup and oil change. They called and stated that there was sludge in the oil and the engine was undriveable. My husband has always changed the oil and apparently because he did not go somewhere to have it changed it voids my 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. They wouldn't perform the tune-up because it wouldn't help.
Then they said that they will replace the oil and add Mystery Oil to it and I can come and pick it up!
I feel like they do not want to take responsibility for whatever the cause of the sludge. They said it was poor maintenance with "Bad" oil. At first they said there was no oil in the vehicle and then later recanted when I asked why the "oil" indicator never came on. They said there was 3 gallons of oil in it.
They are trying to pass the buck because now they are saying the engine isn't warranted at all. At first it wasn't driveable and the engine was shot but suddenly I can come and pick it up????? I feel that they are taking advantage of the situation. Have any of you heard of Kia's sludging? I know Toyota and GM had major problems and Toyota blamed the consumer like Kia is doing.
