I listed a laptop for sale on Facebook. I had two people contact me, offering me nice prices for my listing, then giving me their email addresses and asking me to contact them if I was interested.

After contacting both sellers individually, I noticed something weird. First, they both wanted me to ship to Nigeria (for different reasons). Because this is an unusual shipping destination, I checked into it further.

I started received fake emails impersonating paypal, stating that the buyer had made a payment and that it would be pending until I contacted them with the tracking number (meaning I would have to ship the item before I received payment).

After talking with an employee of UPS, he said it was a complete scam. In fact, UPS no longer ships to Nigeria because of this popular scam. The seller ships their item and never receives payment. It's a lose-lose situation.
