“Shemar Moore Rips-off Fan/Contributors to his Bounce Back Movie Indiegogo Campaign” Actor, Shemar Moore, formerly of Criminal Minds, and his producer and the manager of his 2013 Indiegogo campaign for Moore’s The Bounce Back movie, Raynell Brown a/k/a Ray Brown of Ncredible Productions have defrauded his contributors by not delivering on promised perks in exchange for their contributions. Brown helped Moore raise $637,893 from 3,552 people for production of Moore's movie, The Bounce Back. The movie which was produced and distributed in December 2016 by A Viva Pictures Distribution release of an Ankle Socks and Baseball Pants production, in association with Cima Films, Tytin Entertainment. Producers: Ray Brown, Anmur Delara, Youssef Delara, Victor Telan. Executive Producers: Joe Arancio, Michael Arrietta, Shemar Moore. Under the Indiegogo campaign, Moore made a personal appeal to his fans to contribute money for the production of his Bounce Back film project. In exchange, contributors were to receive various perks depending on the level of their contributions. The perks were tied to either Bounce Back or Criminal Minds. Moore’s fans pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars. One of the perks was a visit onto the Criminal Minds set with Moore. After the fundraising was complete and months of delays that perk was withdrawn and hundreds of contributors were not able to go the set. Because of that problem, Brown and The Back Bounce Team sent out numerous emails that contributors would be reimbursed, but no refunds were forthcoming. For example, one email stated, on Nov 25, 2016, at 2:47 PM, Bounce Back thebouncebackfilm@gmail.com>wrote: We have every intention on refunding your contribution. The producers will email you after the film is released to ask you for your pay pal account. Sorry you are discouraged. We ran into tons of hurdles throughout this filmmaking effort-mostly because only 2-3 people have been working on the project for the past 3 years. They have been working 20+ hours a day with practically no budget to get the movie into theaters. Thank you for your initial interest. And again, sorry we lost your support. We will be in touch after the release of the film. Warmly,-The Bounce Back film team.” A prior email from Brown indicated: "Once everything thing is sorted out the distribution company everything will be work out. No one will be left high and dry. We nor Shemar would allow that to happen". According to Indiegogo, “Indiegogo case # 1117203 terms and contract with Campaign Owner - Raynell Brown- rbrown@ncredible.com, the bouncebackfilm@gmail.com, http://www.shemarmoore.com are legally bound to perform on any promise and or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks). If any Campaign Owner is unable to fulfill any of its commitments to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions.” Moore, Brown and The Bounce Back team have not been heard from since December 2016 when the movie opened (and “closed”). Why is Raynell Brown and Shemer Moore allowed to spam his contributors and just walk away. Brown has claimed that Moore had nothing to do with the fundraising or perks, but in an interview from Shadow and Act on December 9, 2016 which also appeared on imdb.com Moore bragged about how he used his loyal fan base for funding the movie. Moore (SM): …So, I just began looking for projects out there that I could be a part of. I’d never produced before, but I thought to myself that it seemed like just attention to detail, and I felt like I could have a knack for it. It’s just understanding content, understanding stories, knowing how to put people and pieces together, and how to tell a story. To be honest, before the executive producer hat got put on, I actually ran the script around town seeing which studios and distribution companies were interested. Reporter (AT): Really, what was that like? SM: I would either get no response, or I would get a lukewarm response where they would like the idea, but they wanted to find the “right time” to make the movie. So it just seemed to be this slow, stalled process, so I just kind of sat with myself and I talked to some people that I trust, and I was like, “OK, what other avenues can I consider? That’s when the Kickstarter and the Indiegogo thing came up. It was just my way of putting feelers out there to see if there was any demand or interest in it. My loyal fan base, I love them to death, I call them my homies and baby girls, they really stepped up to the plate and through Kickstarter and Indiegogo in just over a month we raised $630,000. AT: Wow! SM: Yes, it was like a really nice pat on my back and a hug from my fans. It wasn’t so much that I needed them to give me money because I could have just gone to a bank and asked for a loan. But, by them interacting and stepping up to the plate like that, it showed Hollywood, that if you have an idea, and you have the passion and the determination and the drive to get it done you can. Hollywood is going to see that there is room for content that they may not even be considering. So, this has really just been my baby, a labor of love and I can honestly say I did it with the help of my fans.” There are hundreds of upset contributors who have received no response from Moore, Brown or The Bounce Back team. Some of their comments which were posted on The Bounce Back page on the Indiegogo site appear below. Now, Moore has scammed his “homies” and “baby girls” and his “loyal fan base” contributors out of their hard earned money. _____________________________________________________________________________ COMMENTS FROM The Bounce Back page on Indiegogo: Cheryl 6 days ago Pardon my language, but this whole thing is BULLSHIT! I paid $400 for the criminal minds perk and I’ve never received anything, no poster, no t-shirt, no script etc. I can’t even stand to look at Shemar anymore. dreams 1 month ago Would be nice if someone posted some type of update for all of the people who paid for perks but have not gotten. Just read the comments the fans are very disappointed in the whole thing. What a bad experience. :( Leverne 2 months ago Ashlie, no refund received here. Have heaps of perks that have never been filled. Very disappointing. Ashli 2 months ago Has anyone received a refund for unfulfilled perks ??? Jen 2 months ago a date for the backer screening for LA was announced and is less than a week away and yet no location or time details have been shared. This is unacceptable. Leverne 3 months ago For those of us who contributed a large amount of money and are not able to attend events because of a change in circumstances, a refund would be most appreciated. S. D 3 months ago I am a backer. I have not received my perk and would like a refund please. Audra 5 months ago What exactly happened that they cancelled the Criminal Minds tour perk? Debra 5 months ago im a backer who has never received my perk, but then again I have moved to another state since the campaign ended. i had asked for a hat when it came to light that perks would be offered to even those who contributed less than $15. I contributed $10 because that was all my late husband and i could afford at the time. If you need my current address to send me my perk please contact me. You have my email address. this i know because you keep sending me updates. Sue 5 months ago I’m another unhappy backer, even if the perks are delivered i have no interest in it – Shermar – Film. Its just tarnished which is such a shame, I have a BB mug that i hate. – Film. Its just tarnished which is such a shame, I have a BB mug that i hate. Beth 5 months ago I am also another very unhappy backer that contributed $500 for going on the set. Shemar in good faith should refund all the Criminal Mind backers. I am also not interested in the movie – meeting him – going to a premiere or a Tshirt. We supported him with our hard earned money and he is doing the same thing to us as when he was robbed. cindy 5 months ago I would like a refund for my $1,000.00 for the 4 of us to meet the cast of Criminal Minds!! He’s not even on the show anymore. Because of some stupid individual(s), they stopped doing that particular perk? I am beyond annoyed. My older 2 daughters love Criminal Minds and Shemar! Well, we might still love CM, but definitely don’t love Shemar anymore. What happened? Very disappointed. Want to donate this money a young mom here in Moorpark who was burned by her crazy husband (now ex in prison)!!! Tammy5 months ago I really do not want to get my hopes up again. When is the premiere and after party. People have to arrange time off work and make hotel and flight reservations. Amanda 6 months ago http://www.etonline.com/news/195588_criminal_minds_star_shemar_moore_robbed_60k_from_former_guest_actor/ You have done the same thing to the people who have donated their hard earned money to support this campaign. Cheryl 6 months ago So did anyone else see the story about Shemar in US mag. Apparently a “friend” of his stole $60,000 from him. This is a quote that was in the article “I’ve done a lot for him because he had me, my friends fooled,” Moore said. “I’m not here for money. I’m here because he betrayed a friendship. This is not OK. You don’t do this to people.”…………..Really you don’t do this to people!!! Isn’t that what he’s done to us? I can’t even look at him anymore, it just makes me so furious when I do. Sarah 7 months ago Has anyone heard from them recently? Has anyone heard from them recently? Leverne 7 months ago I would also like to receive a full refund. I paid $1000+ in good faith and the only perk I ever received was the holiday card. Extremely disappointing. No replies to emails sent. d9 months ago Angela 9 months ago Glad I didn’t pay as much as some of you. I got the combo pack and never received the script or the digital download. I wonder if the movie will ever be released. Cheryl 10 months ago I say it’s time we all contact the media about this. I feel like it’s all been a scam. Almost three years now since we’ve all donated and most of us have received nothing in return. cindy12 months ago We donated $1,000 for 2 set visits (for 4 people) and am very disappointed that we can’t go. Waiting for our money back. Very frustrating. Thank you. Frustrated Fan centari2 months ago I first tried for months to get enough answers to fly from out of state for my CM set perk. Finally, after that falling through I was offered a refund. I even tried after that to still support. But finally I was in a world of hurt and need that money back for an unfulfilled promise. Have sent multiple emails and waited months with no response save the campaign updates. I’m glad others will get their perks finally. But I need that refund, as we were offered and promised for our failed perk. Tammy 12 months ago Well, it appears that nothing is happening with regard to the unfulfilled perks. If I had only given a few dollars, it would not worry me so much. But this is $1,000 (+$50 for the coffee cups, which is all I received). Very disappointing. Maybe time to contact the media, contacting Indiegogo has not helped. Amanda 1 year ago This is crazy….I was offered a refund and provided ALL of my information. Still NOTHING. This was such a scam. Throwing away $500 of my hard earned money makes me sick to my stomach and you should feel embarrassed to let so many people down that contributed to this campaign. Amanda 1 year ago Sent from YOU on February 24th, 2015 So sorry to report this, but we just received the news that we will not be able to set up any further Criminal Minds Set Tours. We have spend the past month trying to work it out, but much to our dismay, there’s nothing we can do. We will also be glad to refund your contribution. Again, we are TRULY apologetic that this unfortunate incident happened. Anonymous, New York , NY
