I was attempting to locate birth/death records of my brother and sister in an attempt to locate where they were buried. Web detective pro, when their names was entered, said they had a positive match for both. The information was not available until after one was to sign up for the service. Once signed up I was unable to locate either brother or sister and their search showed no record found. When I attempted to contact the company they only phone numbers were for support in canceling the account. I called and canceled the account and tried to get a number to voice my concerns.

I was told they did not have the number for anyone, and that I would be billed for the service, but would not be charged the monthly fee. I concluded my phone call and resided myself of the loss of money wasted. Later I checked the Internet to see if there was another's that had a similar problem. I found multiple people who advised they had been scammed by the same company.

I found that several had been billed for "The Privacy Chest" a service the offered as free... that is until after a month you are billed $38.83. (Small print at end of article) The check box is placed so it looks like an advertisement and has the check box already marked as "today's Special Bonus!" It talks about several items which show check marks that show the features. I did not check the box so I was to be billed for the "The Privacy Chest" which I did not even know I was getting. It is a "Privacy Chest", it is so private you do not even know you are getting it.

I saw where several others had contacted the company multiple times attempting to get their accounts closed and their billing stopped. I did not wish to face the same problems. Realizing I was scammed by "Web Detective Pro" (Pro Scammers) and was going to lose my initial sign up fee.

So after all my calls and e-mails to the company I was able to cancel my Web Detective Pro. Thinking I was scammed, and it was over I took a break and started reading some of the letters others had written. I find that these other people canceled their Web Detective Pro and was later billed for the "The Privacy Chest". It seems they have a different place to go to cancel the Privacy Chest. SO I had to call and cancel it and requested a E-Mail to show I canceled it also. I was told I could go to their web site to cancel the Privacy Chest but when I checked, I could not find where it was at on the site.

SO Web Detective Pro said they had the information I needed. NOT. Charged for a service they could not provide. Refuses to refund ones money. Signs you up for a service you don't want, and then bills you for that service when you don't cancel it.
