Complaint Review: RCI

 So back in 2005 I got this great voucher in the mail for a "free cruise" and hotel stay. All I had to do was pay for airfare...what 26yr old bachelor wouldn't sign up for that?!! After none of my friends agreed to go I ended up going with my girlfriend at the time. So there we were. Me 26 and her 21. We had been dating around 8 months at the time. After we arrived and did what we always did when we got to hotel (drink ridiculous amounts of alcohol) we headed over to our tour. We had no intention of buying but of course they know what they are doing... Convinced it was the right thing for us by Pam, we signed up! Not individually, which would have been fine, she had us get it together! This was around Thanksgiving, by New Year's Day we had broken up and she had moved out and moved on. When I called to ask if there was any kind of back out of the contract they told me, "No." And have since been stuck with it. Years later I have paid the mortgage off but have still never used it and of course they won't buy or even take it back. And then there is the maintenance fees...never once have I ever received a bill regarding my maintenance fees. They must expect that I will magically know what I owe them each year. Proud to say I have never paid them since I have never received a bill however, never paying the maintenance fees makes it impossible to get rid of the property. So I called them to see what I owed after all these years and they told me that they did not know because they had sent my bill off to a collections agency. And yet when I called that number, they had never heard of me or my account. I realize there is no end to this story, just a rant from one of the many young, dumb, drunk and gullible who have been preyed upon by this company. Thanks for letting me share, Tom
