Cash for Keys Scam After your Landlord gets Foreclosed on.

First I'd like to say that Lisa Wallace and Associates treats MILITARY personnel horribly!  This is my story.

I was contacted by Lisa Wallace, a partner of RE/MAX Riverside in Occoquan, VA.  She informed me that my landlord, Mousad Azodfroz, was not paying his mortgage with my rent money, therefore causing the bank to foreclose on him.  By law, I have 90 days before I have to move out from the home.  This small fact Lisa conveniently forgot to tell me about.

I entered negotiations with Lisa Wallace where her assistant offered me $5000.00 to be moved out within two weeks.  The basis for the agreement was set.  I made all preparations to move by accomplishing the following:  1.  Arranged a moving company to come in, pack and remove my household goods.  This was well within the two-week period allotted.  2.  I hunted for homes in my area where I finally, after hours and hours of searching, found a home to move into.  I submitted my credit report to the leasing agency, costing me $70.00 and made arrangements to sign the lease.

Two days before I was supposed to move from the foreclosed home, I spoke with Lisa Wallaces office where I was told that the bank never agreed to pay me 5000.000.  I had to immediately cancel the movers and inform the new landlord that I would not be moving.

Lisa Wallace and RE/MAX Riverside NEVER intended to pay anything for me to move.  The agreement we had is a standard procedure that is used by realtors and banks to have tenants move.  Unfortunately, Lisa Wallace and RE/MAX Riverside were using this charade solely as a means to get me to move and not own up to their responsibilities.  Again, by law, I am allowed 90 days to stay in a foreclosed home.  The law is: "Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act of 2009."  President Obama signed it in April of 2009.  Lisa Wallace and RE/MAX Riverside undoubtedly wronged me by their backing out of the agreement at the last minute.

Their unprofessional actions and dishonest behavior was an incredible inconvenience for me.  I have a lawsuit filed in small claims court scheduled in November.  I hope they realize that they cannot do this to human beings.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE and a HORRIBLE BUSINESS.  Dishonest and unprofessional all around.  Avoid at all costs.

Slanderous Case Dismissed in Court!

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, April 08, 2010

This case was dismissed in small claims court in November 2009. The judge didn't even need to hear my side of the story. It was a waste of everyone's time.  I had no dealings with this indiviual whatsoever. I didn't know he existed until I received a supoena to appear in court. He made several erroneous and slanderous accusations including we treated Military Personnel badly.

I am a retired Navy Commander and over 90 percent of my clients are active and retired military personnel. Almost all of them are referred to me from my military client database who have been very please with the services we provided.

This Office enjoys an excellent reputation in the Northern Virginia area.

Lisa Wallace is no longer affiliated with this office.

Honest Realtor? Choose Lisa Wallace.

I have been a local mortgage banker in the DC AREA since 1994.  I have literally helped thousands of families realize their dream of home ownership with dignity and respect to each and every person.  When people/families contact me thru my database/referral network (I do not advertise for business...never have) and ask me for guidance in choosing a Realtor...I give them one name only...Lisa Wallace.  She conducts her business in the exact same way that I have conducted my business for 16 years...with honesty, integrity, and completely by the "Golden Rule". She is as honest as the day is long.  I find this post to be utter rubbish...garbage.  I was not surprised to see a retraction by the author.  Dishonesty is one term that will never be associated with Lisa Wallace, I assure you.  It was a posting by someone who obviously never owned a home, or has not done so in quite some time.  If that person comes to me for home loan financing, he/she will get one and only one business card from me.  And the Military shot you take?  You are way off base.  The last 3 home loans I did for clients of Lisa Wallace were Veterans Loans...all who were able to get a home in a tough market because of Lisa Wallace.

Your story is full of erroneous information.  Your problem Sir/Madam lies with your Landlord and certainly not Lisa Wallace.  I am sorry your lost a home to live in but your attack on an honest, ethical business person is disturbing.  I wonder why you ended up posting are retraction?  Correct...you were wrong.

Update

#4Author of original report

Sun, March 14, 2010

After my unsuccessful attempt to recover the $5000 that was offered me, Lisa Wallace admitted that the offer of $5000 was a mistake on behalf of her assistant.  Since then, she has been sincerely apologetic and I believe that she has made an honest effort to make things right.

I contacted the bank which was supplying the funds for the Cash for Keys agreement and was informed that they never offered more than $3500.  At this time, I asked if the offer was still available and they were agreeable to make a new deal for $3500.

GMAC assured me that they would have the payment on the day that I moved out and that no issues would arise.  On move-out date, the inspector for GMAC never showed but Lisa Wallace did.  She was very helpful and made a sincere effort to contact GMAC and determine why the inspector didnt show.  After unsuccessfully locating the inspector, Lisa agreed to inspect the property.  She found the property to be in impeccable condition and kindly made the payment to me on behalf of GMAC.  This was an unnecessary and generous offering on her behalf.

Since Lisa handled this second agreement with professionalism, I removed a complaint which was filed with the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors.  Since she seemed pleasant and amicable, I would say that she now has treated me (a military member) and will treat others with the same respect.

Note: Since there was a favorable outcome, I asked that the original report be removed.  The website editor unfortunately refused several of my requests.
