Reaction Strike Lures - Mr. Quade Reactionstrike.com This gentleman is a rip off - con artist Internet

I bought an entire lot of ebay of many many fishing lures for musky fishing. Two lures happened to be from reaction strike and they are called the bull bream mirror minnow. When I got them off ebay they were brand new in the package and when I opened them they had tears in the rubber material. So they would not work right or fish properly.

I contacted the owner of the manufacturing company (Richard Quade) from ReactionStrike.com and he has been nothing but rude and uncooporative. All I asked for was a place to mail them to so that I could get them replaced. He stated that because I bought them on ebay I am out of luck and he will not help me. He is claiming that they had to have been tampered with. He will not provide me with any address to mail them to and continues to be nothing but rude in the emails. I have kept every email and would be happy to show it to anyone who would like to view.

Richard Quade should not be in business for anything. He is a rip off and a con artist and I hope the whole world knows. Good customer service is what life should be about. Not passing the blame onto others. He continues to try to blame others and wont take responsibility for any wrong doing in the manufacturing process.

Please beware and be warned. He is a liar and a horrible business man.

Silly complaint from dubious source

#12REBUTTAL Owner of company

We have one of the nicest websites on the web - www.reactionstrike.com.  There is a contact me page with an address to send defective materials.

We replace any bait that is defective.  We don't ask questions, unless the angler is being unreasonable.  In this case, if he really wanted a replacement he could just send it back for a prompt and courteous replacement.

The funny thing here is the guy admits to buying the baits off ebay.  How are we to have any idea of the condition?  That is like buying a car off ebay then sending it to Ford for a new replacement.  Silly, because we warrant items we sell directly, or our dealers sell, but items bought from a garage sale are hard to justify.  But, as mentioned above, we still would replace them even though we have no way to know if the baits were really new or used?

The truth is, this person never contacted me and simply had an axe to grind.  More than likely this is a competitor, or friend of a competitor who is having fun on the internet.

The offer still stands, but I am sure I won't be seeing the baits in the mail.

On a final note, the tone of this post is quite extraordinary.  He accuses me of being a liar but in the same paragraph admits to buying the lures from ebay?  We never sold him a thing so how did we lie?

oh, well, life is too short.

Thanks,
Reaction Strike

Maybe someone got through to her?

Maybe some finally got her to understand that if you don't buy something from a company or their authorized dealers, you are not the companies customer and you will not get support.  Why didn't she go back to the person she bought them from?

This whole silly exchange just made the manufacturer look like the good guy, gave him free advertising and I would buy from him in a second.

First off, Wendy, I have never met Mr. Quade and wouldn't know him from Adam if I saw him.  What I do know is that you just aren't getting it, are you?  And after reading your last post it seem obvious that YOU are the one doing the harrassing, not him.  Sheesh, lady, get off his back.  You simply cannot expect to buy something from one person then expect another to reimburse you because it just won't happen.  Ebay is nothing more than a global flea market.  You can't go to a yard sale, buy an item  then bring it home and find a flaw then expect to be able to call the manufacturer and have them send you new ones or reimburse you.  I'd tell you you were quite daft if you expected that.  You strike me as the kind of person who is never satisfied with things in life, therefore you will never be able to comprehend that what you are expecting is simply foolish.  However, if it will keep you from pestering this man who is trying to run a business, let me know the "damages" and I'll consider sending you a money order.

A RIP OFF

This guy is still trying to pass the buck on others. He never once offered anything nor did he offer me an address to mail them to for him to check them out. Im the one to blame when I open two broken lures. That is so funny and so typical of a crooked man to do. Not anything as a consumer would expect when buying a fishing lure anywhere. He could have looked them over and checked them before ever making an accusation.

By the way - I have signed every email with my name. My name is Wendy Roloff and I have been nothing but nice and kind with this guy. He is just 4 cards short of a full deck and has a few screws loose. When you make a product you should offer to help the consumers and NOT chastize them and call them names. I have all of his emails as proof of his harassment. He never offered once to help. Doesnt matter if I bought it on ebay OR an unauthorizes bait shop. The moral of the story is - he should have offered to check the product for me. I was offering to send it at MY expense.

I hope that everyone sees him for the crook that he is. I also find it soooo funny that his friends and on here commenting on his behalf to make me look like a bad person. I am a consumer with two FULL time jobs and make more money yearly than this crook does I am sure. Im far into the six digits. His measly two lures didnt mean crap to me. It was the principal of it. He is unwilling to work with anyone and even offer to check his BAD merchandise. A manufacturing defect is not my responsibility, nor should a consumer have to eat the cost. I now know who NOT to do business with and I hope others follow suit.

"I have NEVER in my life been told that a manufacturer would not warranty a product that is BRAND NEW."

You're still not getting it.  If I sell you a brand new Sony TV off the back of my truck and you take it home and find it doesn't work, what do you think Sony is going to tell you when you request warranty service?  They're going to tell you to go pound sand if you don't have a dated receipt from an authorized dealer.

Buying off Ebay is the equivalent of buying off the back of a truck or at a flea market.  Manufacturers warrant products that are purchased through their authorized sales channels.  They generally don't want anything to do with 2nd or 3rd hand sales.  While you may not agree with it, that is the way the majority of manufacturers operate.

business blackmail

#12REBUTTAL Owner of company

There is very little true regarding what this person wrote.

They bought an "as is" load of ebay lures from someone.  It was not from a registered Reaction Strike dealer.

The individual then demanded brand new lures!  I offered replacements at 1/3rd retail, but that was insufficient.

I tried to explain that companies cannot warranty second hand product.  It would be the same as buying a second hand pair of shoes, or second hand TV and then demanding a replacement from the company.  Wouldn't it be nice if you could buy used products for a fraction of retail on ebay, then get free brand new replacements?  That is what they demanded of us.

This person says I was rude?  Wow, that is rich.  I responded to no less than 7 emails trying to help this person.  Rude would have simply been to ignore their silly emails.  But they simply wanted to blackmail free lures from me threatening to contact the Better Business Bureau if I did not comply.

We are one of the fastest growing and most successful brands in the fishing industry.  However, we will not be bullied by small people like this nameless person who never even had the courage to provide a name to all the rude emails he/she sent.

You really expected this man to replace them when you bought them off someone else?  And then you have the nerve to bad mouth him on here and claim this will be on here "forever" so people can see how rotten he is?  Obviously you don't realize by naming this man in particular you have just cooked your own goose!!  Yes, you did a fine job and I'd bet Richard Quade will find out about it soon enough and then your problems will REALLY begin.  You can't just come on here and bad mouth people by name and just go on about your business.  Rip Off can turn around and bite you, and I'd not be surprised if it did.

use negative feedback

ebay doesnt tolerate a bunch of bull when it comes to sellers on their site..they have  mechanisms in place to deal with situations like yours..NEGATIVE FEEDBACK is the best way to deal with shady sellers..other buyers see your feedback and respond accordingly..also, ebay will get involved if the problem persists..you must let ebay know if you are unhappy..they keep track of EVERYTHING...ebays reputation rests on the integrity of buyers and sellers who use their site...let them know!

LIES ALL LIES - SCAMMER

#12Author of original report

Fri, March 05, 2010

See what I mean - the guy is still trying to pin things on others and change the subject. Bottom line is - it doesnt matter where I got them or how much I paid. I still bought two brand new in the package lures that he manufactured and he wouldnt even let me send them in to get checked or replaced. I have never known a company to be soooo dissrespectfull to their customers when all I asked for was a simple address to send them to so they could be checked. He could have responded with a simple "IM SORRY BUT WE CANT REPLACE A LURE NOT PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM US" but instead he responded immediatly with insults, assumptions and smart allic remarks. No need for any harsh responces or words. A simple NO would have sufficed.

I have NEVER in my life been told that a manufacturer would not warranty a product that is BRAND NEW.

I have had three problems in my life with bad items and ALWAYS the manufacturer was happy to work with me to get it replaced.

SPREAD THE WORD THAT THIS GUY IS A RIP OFF SCAM ARTIST THAT WONT WARRANTY EVERYTHING.

I have reported him to the BBB and also the local agencies that govern deadbeats like him. Also posting an add here WILL warn others. This will stay online FOREVER and can not be removed so anyone who goes to check him out will see this.

Why do people think they can by crap cheap on Ebay, then go pester the manufacturer to replace the junk they bought on the cheap?   The real world doesn't work that way.

Try buying a Sony Plasma TV from an anonymous guy on Ebay, then going to Sony when it breaks down.   Do you think they're gonna fix it?  Of course not.
