Read Your Credit Card Bills Carefully!
During this holiday time, I was quickly burning up my credit card, maxing it out to accomodate my holiday gift list. When my current bill came in, I cringed as I looked at it. I wanted to just file it away, you know, bury my head in the sand. Instead, I went over the charges and found one I couldn't place. It was for CD * FAMILY FUN SAVER 800-242-7771 CT, it was for $59.95.
I decided to call it. I was on hold waiting my turn for the next agent. When I finally got one on the phone, I asked what his company sold. He was silent for a long span, I said, "hello, hello?" He said, "Hello, can I help you?" "Yes, you can tell me what your company sells. You see I have a charge and I have no idea what it is for." He jumped into a spiel about some kind of discount clubs for family fun, blah, blah, blah...I didn't continue to listen, and said "I'm not interested" He then said if I gave him the credit card number he would take off the charges. The whole conversation lasted about 2 minutes at the most.
I realized then that it was a scam. They charge this to your credit card without you knowing, and if you happen to catch it on your bill, call the number and they will take it off promptly to avoid trouble.
