Reader's Digest ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing Prescott Arizona
I allowed my one year subscription to expire without renewal. Reader Digest kept sending magazines I did not request. After the third magazine they stopped sending magazines. But they were demanding payment for three magazines. Finally they threatened to send the collection agency after me. They were harrassing me, threatening to harm my credit rating if I don't pay up.
Rather than to waste time dealing with this I gave in and sent them the $13.98 check. On this check, as well as on their bill, I've explicitly stated on both sides to Cancel Subscription. I've also written on this check that by cashing this check they acknowledge my request to cancel subscription. They cashed my check took my money and ignored my request to stop sending me anything.
Two months later they reinstated the unwanted subscription against my will then sent me two magazines in the same month. If I cannot stop their mailing unwanted magazines they will demand money again and threaten me with their collection agency.

Ignore it, they can't provide proof that you renewed the subscription

I have had this happen several times to me with newspapers, magazines, books, etc. Ignore it... if they can't provide proof that you renewed the subscription and that you paid for what you ordered, then what they sent you "unsolicited" is considered a gift by the USPS... enjoy!
