In March of 2012 I received a call from Realestateagent.com. They said they were a new company but had been very successful and were offering a promotional period of 3 months for 5 zip codes for $175.00. In the 3 months that I was with them I never received 1 lead, not a call or email. 5 days prior to my renewal period I called to cancel. I was hung up on twice before I was able to finally speak with someone. When I asked to cancel she said I was not within the 10 cancellation prior that was clearly written in my terms and conditions. I was  not told this when I signed up so shame on me for not looking at the terms and conditions. Because of this I was going to be charged $175 on my renewal date, or if I preferred I could pay a cancelation fee (even though I was cancelling prior to my renewal date) of $14.99, but it had to be in writing, I couldn't even do it over the phone or by email.

When I spoke with the customer service about not receiving any leads she said "Miss, you can log into your account and see that you have had numerous impressions on your webpage" No mater how many times I told them I didn't receive 1 call or email they insisted it was not their fault and that I had web traffic on my page. At one point the supervisor even said to me "I'm sorry, I'm not your phone company so I can't tell you why you were getting the calls".

Stay away from this company! You get NO leads and they are very deceptive.

Attacking this company for not providing leads is an unfair as attacking the Yellow Pages.  I have advertised with them for 3 years and while I only get about 1 to 2 deals completely generated by it per year I am able to use the fact that I am listed there with Buyers and Sellers.  Many Top Agents in my County advertise on it.

I was lucky and got an inquiry and sale the first week I was on so that is probably why I stuck with them in the beginning. But now I find it a low cost way to advertise.
They do not ever claim to sell Leads.  They give you a full nice looking custom page to write about yourself and list your credentials.  It looks to be a Review of you written by someone online.
I made a printout of the web page to give clients and refer everyone I start to work with there and it has persuaded many to pick me when all else was equal.

It makes you look good and we need every bit of help to compete in this business.  I have tried many Lead sellers and have only had a good experience with a few.  This is a good company that can give you an edge in advertising but they do not promise or sell leads.  It is another tool in our toolbox and you have to know how to use it.  Missunderstanding what they are doing for you does not warrant them being labeled a "Ripoff" and there are plenty of ripoffs in this industry to pick on.

My only complaint with them has been they are not aggressive at notifying me when the listing is about to expire.  I was off the site a few times when the renewal time past by and I did not pay for another quarter.  When I then paid they were able to place my same page back up without loss of copy but I was no longer at the top. This resolved itself after other agents quit. They are not aggressive at all in Billing like most of the companies I have to deal with and it would be helpful if they would send an email before expiration.
