Rebecca Adaway - Sweet Petunia's Persians & Himalayans Offensive, abusive breeder totally lacking in any moral integrity or honesty O'Fallon Missouri
In November of 2008, I sold Rebecca Adaway a beautiful cream point Himalayan kitten in top show condition. She signed a contract and we discussed in emails (I have copies) that once this boy was finished being used in her breeding program, he could only leave her as a neutered male and go to a forever pet home. I explained to her, AND SHE UNDERSTOOD, that my cats were not to be used, sold to others to be used in their breeding programs, then sold over and over. She knew that he should never leave her as a whole cat. My major concern was that my kitties have a wonderful forever life. She agreed . . .
Rebecca decided to sell this boy and not use him in her breeding program through an excuse about sudden allergies she developed! She advertised him for double the price she paid for him. I have copies of everything. She used the fact that since he hadn't been used in her breeding program, the contract did not apply - but the contract said "kitten/cat". Since kittens aren't used in a breeding program, she well knew what the contract said!
I paid the ransom and the shipping to get my cat back. He came back in deplorable condition - SHAVED from head to tip of tail. A cat that could have easily become a grand champion, he can never be shown because the tail would take at least several years to grow back and the formerly clear body color is now shaded. Everyone who has ever lion cut a cat knows NEVER to shave the tail, as the cat will often think it is a toy and mangle its own tail. Luckily, this beautiful boy hasn't done that, but his show career is over and he is no longer a show cat.
Rebecca was scathing, nasty, abusive, and horrible in the dealings. I wouldn't place a cat with her if she paid me $100,000 for a pet, and she could NEVER place one of her cats with me at any price. I have seen pictures of the kitten she sent to Michele BEFORE HE WAS shipped and he was obviously sick then. She even emailed another breeder about his health problems and these emails and the pictures can be made available. Sweet Petunia's - there is absolutely nothing sweet about this woman. I pity any kittens in her care or feel equally sorry for anyone who deals with her.

I purchased a "flame" point from Virginia, not a cream point. You have to forgive her for her many mistakes, she is very old, and gets a lot of facts mixed up. I aquired him at 6 months old and he was a very sweet cat, although he came to me with a horrible ear infection which I had to have treated immediately. After about 3 months and 7 cats running around my home I started noticing difficulty in my breathing. I was unable to take care of grooming the cats and cleaning out their litter boxes without wheezing. I eventually had to go to the ER, where I was diagnosed with asthma worsened by the cats. My doctor and the ER physician recommended that I sell all of my cats immediately. I told them that they were my babies and I could not do this. My doctor advised me along with 3 other well known breeders to shave my cats and that this may help my asthma. I took all of my cats to be professionally shaved and bathed. I also purchased a air purifying system for my home at the cost of $500. After 3 weeks I realized it was not working and since I had never "used" the flame point in my breeding program (he was only 9 months old and had only been my pet) I thought it would be okay to sell him. After putting him up for sale I was contacted by a friend of Virginias who said that she would be upset if she knew I was selling him. I immediately took him off of my site because I did not want to upset Virginia. These are the exact words out of Virginias contract
"Buyer agrees that if this cat is used in a breeding program, upon ending his/her breeding career, if buyer does not want to keep him/her as a pet, he/she will be spayed or neutered and placed in a home where he/she will live out the remainder of his/her life."
Since the cat had not been used in my breeding program I thought there would be no problem in selling him. Well I then got a very nasty email from Virginia threatening to sue me and turn me into the CFA. She then requested I send the cat back to her immediately. I told her in an email that my doctor had recommended that I shave the cats to try and help me keep them, I told her that I had shaved the cat. After receiving him back she called and threatened me again saying that she was "appalled and shocked" that he was shaved and that she wanted all of her money back right away or she was going to spread bad things about me and my cattery to everyone she could. I then re-sent the email back to Virginia where I had previously told her the cat was shaved. After that of course she had nothing else to say. This all happened several months ago so all I can assume is that Virginia King and Alla from Fluffy Charm have joined forces to try and spread bad and untrue things about me because I shaved my cats, MY CATS that I was trying to keep. MY CATS. These were MINE, not theirs. And if you read their complaints the only thing they are really complaining about is that I shaved my cats that were mine to shave at the time. I told them both that they were shaved before I sent them back to them. This is the most rediculous petty pathetic waste of time for these horrible woman to put me and my cattery on ripoffreport because I shaved my cats. I cannot believe this. How pathetic and unfulfilling their lives must be. How they must have no lives at all to be spending time making up stories about me, a loving mother of 3 who has wanted nothing but to keep a house full of happy healthy animals. Shame on you two. Shame on you for your lies and your jealousy. What goes around comes around.

Text should have read: I have seen pictures of the kitten she sent to Melissa BEFORE HE WAS shipped and he was obviously sick then.
Both are pretty names but Melissa is the accurate name!!!
