I am a contract recruiter.  When I make a placement I have 30 days from the date of hire and then my check is suppose to be cut and sent to me.  Well my first placement I received my check within a week from the 30 day mark, the next two weeks, the next 9 weeks and now again 6 weeks and still no payment.

It seems you start out getting your checks/commission on time and then the trend begins to start where each check begins to come later and later and later.  Considering you work on commission and maybe make 4-5 placements a year if your lucky every check matters.  Instead he blames it on the client, so apparently U***** A/P department has screwed me and made me wait 9 weeks, which means they do not honor contracts, this second client ********* supposedly has A/P offices all over the world.

Apparently he has been contacting them every day and nobody answers the phone, or he says he actually spoke to someone 3x and yet we have no idea where the check is or if it has even been cut.  Yet he says this is typical of this client.  Interesting that such companies cannot pay their bills on time.  So seems strange that while he is receiving his checks regularly the rest of us are starving and trying to feed and care for our families and not receiving our checks for hard work done! So question is and has become is this Sean Margalit or is this the clients he has???

After seeing other complaints I am beginning to think a BBB report should be filed and an investigation take place.  Be very careful who you trust!

Sean Margalit is a Great Person to Work with!

I would like to state, that in doing this recruiting I have come to find it is not Sean Margalit's fault when client's do not pay on time.  It happens were they are large companies and just do not seem to pay their bills timely and thus the turn around time can take longer.

I have worked with Sean well over a year now and he has been of great assistance in helping me succeed and has gone above and beyond to make that happen.  I think he is a great person to work with and he communicates with you regularly to keep you posted when your money is lagging.

Frustrating.....yes it is extremely frustrating.  It can make you so angry but the blame does not fall onto Sean it falls onto the company.

So in stating, patience is a virtue one must gain in working on commission.  It's not always easy when your payday comes every few months or longer and you have bills to pay etc., but remember where the fault lies and remember you do what you do because you love it, and if you don't love it then you should truly move on!

Pamela Rauman,

It's really too bad that you feel this way and haven't told me.  We work together every day, and frankly I'm shocked at this report.  You were paid the same day I was, before the money even cleared my account.  I have never held your commission for an hour.  In fact, I've gone above and beyond what anyone else will do and actually go down to your bank and make the deposit directly into your account.

Not many other firms disburse the funds the moment they're received.  However, what most recruiting companies do is hold monies on split deals until after the 90 day guarantee period is up.  Please refer to our agreement as it will remind you how this works.

So, if you take into account when your candidate started in October 2012 and when the client paid us in January 2013, you were actually paid about 10 days past the 90 day mark.  If you have any further questions regarding my integrity, please refer to my website and look at all the endorsements and positive feedback listed.
