Rented a room at the Red Carpet Inn in Lake City Florida.  Took our stuff into the room and went across the street to get something to eat.  half of the hotel was closed due to no water services being changed over from well water to city water.  When my husband and I went to take out shower, there was minimun water pressure and no hot water in the bathroom.  Had to flush the toilet three times to get anything to flush.  Ended up taking a sponge bath with water in the bathroom sink.  Any time we went looking for the owner/manager, he was no where to be found.  Apparently he was the only one one ran the business 24/7.  To begin with you could barely understand him because he wasn't american.  The hotel looked alright from the outside, but the inside air was so muggy, you could cut it with a knife.  We would have been just as well off sleeping in the truck (truck drivers).  The carpets looked like they hadn't been shampooed in a few years.  Half of the lights in the room either did not work or had no bulbs.  We just wanted to shower and sleep since it was so hot outside and just as hot in the truck.
