Complaint Review: Red Frog Beach Club

Red Frog Beach Club Pillar Panama, Oceans Group International Misrepresentation, fraud, Internet

The Developers at Red Frog Beach promised to build us a home that was to be up to US standards. The contract was signed in 2006. The home was to have 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, central air and heat. Some time in 2008 there was a labor strike that lasted about a year. At about that time, and without our consent or knowledge, the plans of the home changed. It was now a 3 bedroom home and instead of central air, the bedrooms now had window units. The people at Red Frog have refused to acknowledge these changes and have insisted that we close on the home. After telling them that we were canceling our contract, they ignored our request and proceeded with plans for the closing.  In December of 2010, we received a certificate of Occupancy and were told that the closing would take place in February 15, 2011 and that we could do a walk through on February 14th.  A construction engineer that we hired to oversee the construction of the home was sent to do the required walk through but was told when he arrived at the property, that he could not do a final walk-through prior to closing. We did manage to get some pictures of the property that showed that there were no appliances installed, cabinets that needed to be installed and painted, flooring that needed to be installed and a house full of furniture that was purchased was nowhere to be seen.

We are very
proud of the fact that homes at the Red Frog Beach project have been and
continue to be built in compliance with all agreed upon specifications, meeting
the high standards of the project.   The home in question here was
built to the highest standards and to the specifications set forth in the
client’s contract, including the correct number of bedrooms, appropriate
appliances, and so on. The client’s furnishings are on the island and ready for
installation upon closing.  Most of our clients are happy with their homes
upon closing.  As everyone knows, the management of the Red Frog Beach
development takes any and all client concerns very seriously.  We value
the opportunity to work with clients in resolving any concerns. When a
client is not happy or has any concerns, we want to hear directly from that
client.   The appropriate forum for doing so, however, is not a
public blog.  We invite this particular client to raise directly with us
any and all concerns, which we will work hard to address.
