Complaint Review: Red Lion Moving and Storage

Red Lion Moving and Storage Owe Money, NEVER CALLS BACK Hollywood, Florida

My items were delivered by a contracted trucker, not even the moving company. I was told that the men to loaded my things would be the ones driving them across the country as well (LIE). I was also told that my truck was on it's way, multiple times, even when I knew that the truck had not even left yet. I received a fax from them that they lowered the price of my move, after they tried charging me $3500 for a small move. The fax stated that they would owe me money and that I would be given the money the day that my items are delivered.

My items were delivered, and I did not received my refund. They owe me $428 and have no called back and given any indication that they will send the money. This company did nothing but lie to me  for the month that I dealt with them. Learn from my mistakes and never choose this company.

Also, in the contract that I signed with them, they said that they would take care of all of the loading/unloading/assembly/disassembly. When the truck showed up, only one guy was there, and I had to unload half of my belongings.

#3Consumer Suggestion

I doubt a lawyer will do you much good but it will not hurt to ask one.  If you paid any of the charges on a credit card, dispute the charges.  Most of the time this company demands cash (RED FLAG) so I am pretty sure that is how you paid them. Spend a little time doing the following.  It may not get YOUR money back but it may prevent them from doing this to someone else.

File a report with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Their website is www.protectyourmove.gov. They will investigate the practices of these scam artists.

Also file a report with the Better Business Bureau.  Many consumers will investigate a company here before doing business with them.

Report them to the Attorneys General of Florida (because they claim their corporate office is there) and New Jersey (where they apparently operate).

Let's make sure they do not get away with this bad business practice!!!!!

So when you contacted the lawyer, set up and met with him/her with your contract/cancelled check and the name of the person who did finally sign off on delivery of items, What did the Lawyer say?

Technically you have a case, but I am almost sure you need a lawyer to shake the money tree to get your monies back. Get a Lawyer.
