I worked for the red roof in greensville. I was a housekeeper and I quit. My manager would take hours from my paycheck without telling me. He did this to all of the housekeepers and I have a friend that works at a different red roof in a different city and seh tells me they do that to her. She needs her job and keeps working for them. I quit because it is not fair. I worked very hard for my money.

I asked my manager why he did this and he said that was how he was trained and the company will not do anything about this because they are happy his hours are low.

He said that all of the red roof and motel 6 do this. They changed the name of my hotel to motel 6 and I would like to get my money back that they took from me. This is a big company that is very greedy taking money from people that work so hard.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, I WORK FOR A FRANCHISE OWNED RED ROOF AND FIRST OFF LET ME SAY THE OWNER/MANAGER HAS NO RESPECT FOR HIS EMPLOYEES. HE YELLS AT THE HOUSKEEPERS AND FRONT DESK STAFF HUMILIATEING THEM IN FRONT OF GUEST OR OUTSIDE WHERE EVERYONE CAN HEAR THEM. OH HE SAYS HE DOES NOT MEAN TO. HIS COMMENT "I MAY HOLLER BUT I'M CRYING INSIDE." HIS MAIN HOUSEKEEPER IS IN FRAYED NERVES AROUND HIM BECAUSE FIRST HE IS AS NICE AS CAN BE THEN TEARS INTO HER WHEN HE GETS IN A FOUL MOOD, HE DOES THE SAME THING TO HIS OTHER STAFF TOO. CURRENTLY HE IS TRYING TO ACCUSE ONE OF HIS BEST EMPLOYEES OF THEFT JUST TO TRY TO MAKE HIM QUIT!

HE SAYS HE'LL NEVER FIRE ANYONE SO TO SAVE HIMSELF THE HASSLE OF UNEMPLOYMENT, SO HE FORCES THEM TO QUIT INSTEAD. DURING THE TIME WORKING THERE HE HAS HAD MORE HIRES AND QUITS THAN ANY OTHER BUISNESS I'VE EVER WORKED FOR. HE SAYS THAT THEY JUST DO NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WORK HERE, WELL WHO COULD WHEN HE YELLS SAYING "YOUR INCOMPETENT, A LIAR, AND AN IDIOT, ECT!

CURRENTLY THE EMPLOYEE HE IS TRYING TO FORCE OUT IS ONE OF THE BEST WORKERS I'VE MET, HE WORKED FOR THE SUPER 8 BRAND AS A MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, THAN WORKED FOR THE RADISON GROUP AS A NIGHT AUDITOR, NOW HE WORKS FOR THIS DISPICABLE MAN WHO DOES NOT GIVE HIM THE RESPECT HE DESERVES. WHEN I MET THIS EMPLOYEE HE WAS WORKING A DOUBLE SHIFT BECAUSE AT THE TIME IT WAS ONLY HIM AND THAT MANAGER/OWNER. I LEARNED THAT HE WAS WORKING UP TO 14-16 HOUR SHIFTS WHILE THE MANAGER/OWNER WAS ONLY WORKING THE 11-8 NIGHT SHIFT. THE WORST PART THIS EMPLOYEE WAS NOT EVEN GETTING PAID WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!!

I ASKED HIM WHY HE PUTS UP WITH IT AND HE TOLD ME " WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? I'M STUCK, I LIVE HERE AND AM HAVING NO LUCK IN FINDING A PLACE TO LIVE FOR ME AND MY WIFE, AND WITH NO TRANSPORTATION NO WAY TO EVEN GET AROUND TO FIND ANOTHER JOB." I THINK THIS ISN'T RIGHT BUT HAVE NO WAY TO HELP HIM.

SO AS I SAID WELCOME TO THE CLUB,, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIND OUT MORE ON YOUR END BUT I DON'T KNOW. WHAT I'VE SEEN THIS COMPANY IS THICK AS THEIVES!!

As a CURRENT Accor manager, soon to not be because of the company's corruption, it's evident that the former Red Roof manager who responded is not thinking up ladder of command enough.

I'll be posting MUCH about Accor in the near future, but Maria, I can tell you, yes, that manager was corrupt, BUT, so is the infrastructure of UPPER management that creates that kind of lower level corruption.

As a whole, Accor North America cheats it's managers, MOD's and head housekeepers out of annual bonuses and raises through a system of dishonest "guest satisfaction" reports (This CAUSES competent management to seek employment elsewhere most often). For instance, when a guest calls a "GSS Survey" in, the numerical grade of "3" is termed "good" on the phone. But on a 1-5 scaling, it averages to a failing "60%". This example prevents hardworking management from taking advantage of the "promises" that Accor gives to incoming employees (Who I now refer to as "sheep to the slaughter", because I was hoodwinked as well.).

Also, "CRN complaints" from FRONTERS, people not even registered as guests, TRESPASSERS for God's sake, COUNT against the property, because UPPER management can count the savings on the bottom line at year's end, again from employees losing bonuses as raises. ACCOR itself has a policy against renting to fronters, but the complaints count? What does that say for Accor Safety & Security? Do you want your grandmother staying in room 105, and some criminal with no identification staying in room 106?

Again Maria, the GM who did that to you is corrupt, but overall, nationwide, Accor GM's either stand up for what is right and are punished for it, or they become corrupt like the GM you described, to avoid the punishment.

The problem with Accor (Red Roof and Motel 6) is UPPER management infrastructure corruption.

I worked as a General Manager for Red Roof Inns from 1999-2004. I was never trained to steal hours or cut pay. I was held accountable if my payroll was over. We were instructed to manage by making sure housekeepers were on the clock when cleaning and off the clock when not. Plain and simple.

Sounds like your manager was the issue.

I would call RRI corporate and speak to HR. They will assist you I am sure.
