NOTE: If you want to know about the scam right away, start on paragraph six.

I had my interview last week. Before the interview, a woman phoned me politely to schedule my first interview. On the day of the interview, she phoned me again to remind me about it. I was really impressed and my expectations about the company grew.

Finding the address wasn't really hard. The address number was large. When I entered, there was a LOUD music. I could barely hear the receptionist. Then she asked me what company I am applying for. Turned out there was another company in the same building doing interviews. She gave me an application form (no pen but that's fine, I'm prepared). There were others applying too.

I only waited for around 5 minutes before a man called my name. He invited me to enter this glass walled tiny room. His accent if African but I'm not gonna be racist against that. It's just he talks so fast I could barely catch up. He talked about that the company has recently expanded and is now working for Virgin, BT Disney etc. I already knew this since I did some research and found this website and all the reports about this company.

After his explanation, he asked me about my previous job (which wasn't related to marketing at all). Then he asked about my marketing experience. I talked about my project and gave him a folder containing my marketing thesis and a summary with clear page references incase he wants to check the full report out. While I was explaining it, I knew doesn't really care which demotivated me to talk intelligently. The interview just took 6 minutes. I looked on my watch when I entered and went out.

He told me that if I'm shortlisted for the second interview, I will receive a phone call on the next day at around 6-8pm and I did. He asked me to come on Friday.

FRIDAY: When I got there, there were also other people whom I reckon is also on the same position as me. There's this new woman who told me she'll let me experience the job and then ask me questions on the end of the day. We took the bus and go on this area council estate. I immediately got scared after seeing some gangsters around. The woman introduced me to a bloke whom I thought lives there (he looked like one, without being prejudice) but turned out he works for Red Square Direct too. She told me that they're selling Victoria Jackson make-up face to face to the public as a part of their marketing campaign. Then she asked me to watch the bloke sell the make-up. No one opened the door on the first 4 tries. Then on the 5th try, someone opened the door but didn't bought the make-up. I can barely stop myself laughing. This is not the target audience for that!

Then she asked me to sell the make-up. As I've already said earlier, I've read the reports on this website so I did some research on how to sell make-ups. I knocked on a house with a nice curtain and a vase with nice flowers. A mother opened the door and I made a quick glance around her house and began to speak. I tried to say that this is an innovative product that's new to the market etc. In the end, the mother didn't bought the make-up. The day ended with niether me or the bloke sold anything. The woman interviewed me and we talked about that this is what they're doing and I'll climb up the ladder if I perform well. Then she told me that I've got the job and I'll start on Monday.

I lasted for 4 days. I just sold 12 make-ups. Quite good IMO as I thought I'll never sell a single thing. I don't know if I'm still going tomorrow.

I'm also not getting paid unless I sell something as this is only commission based. So far I've spent 27 for travel and food. My commission for the 12 make-ups is just 15.74. Do the maths. I lost money rather than selling in this job.

Just find another job. A toiler cleaner has a better job than me. Atleast he doesn't risk his life and get paid!

(thought ill go take this job because I need the money right now). The interview was a load of crap just waffle, told ill get called back if sucessful. yep i did, wow..(yea right), went there again had to wait 15mins, saw one guy get interviewed out side on the street while another girl was left sitting for ever.. I manage to get a bathroom break before my second interview, went down stairs and saw only one poster of who they they say they work for....barclays ok now let me think..now they just told me they do marketing for disney, talk talk and some victoria jackson woman whos product are cheap( funny as she did the make up for famous actors). After seond interview I had to go out side in a group selling these products. scam came in when the guy asked to put the products in a spot you would never think..felt sorry for others that applied to this job. good luck if you make 60k ^^
