Feb. 3, 2004 Ordered a brand new Metro Cruiser from Red Streak Motors. Money was posted to credit card account on Feb 5.

On Feb 12, recieved email with tracking information after having to call them to get it.

On Feb 17, made arrangments for the shipping company to deliver the scooter between 12 noon and 3pm. After several phone calls, it was finally delivered at 6pm. The shipping company had damaged it crate and the scooter was almost cut in half. Shipment was refused and Red Streak Motors was called notifying them about the problem. I was told that a new was was on its way.

On Feb 24, I recieve email with shipping info after calling them again. Scooter was already in LA from AZ and due to be at my door in the 25th.

On Feb 25. I recieved the scooter. This one was scratched and had cosmetic damaged. I accepted it due to the fact looks are not everything. I got it home and the book is for a 4-stoke scooter and I ordered a 2-stroke scooter. There was not paperwork on how to put this together (front wheel, front brakes, Front fender, Electrical, etc.). Finally got it together and the bolt tightened added the oil and gas and the battery, it would not start or even turn over. I called Red Streak scooters again. They told me about a safety feature on the bike that was not mentioned in the book. Tried starting it again and it started and ran very well. I drove it around that block to make sure that it was running well and had no problems. I was happy. New scooter with 0.5 miles on it that ran and look rather well. I rode it home that night with no problems. When I got it home I park and covered it for the night.

On Feb 26, I got up and out the door to go do some shopping. I got on the scooter and started up just fine. I do down the road about 5 miles and it quit running. I tried to start it and it started and ran for about a half a block. I tried again and it died after about half a block. I tried again and it would not run. I thought it was because it got too hot. So I pushed it the last 3 blocks to the store. I wondered the store for 2 hours so that the scooter could cool off. I go back out to the scooter and try and start it and it will not start. I take all of the parts off that I had to put on and see if one of the wires had come loose. Nothing. Still would not run. The scooter not has 14 miles on it at this point and I decide that I have to get home, so I push it home. I finally get it home with 19 miles on it and contact Red Streak Motors again to see what is going on with it. They tell me that they are going to send me a replacment part for it. The next day I recieve a turn signal relay. I put it in hoping that this is the right part. Try and start it. No run.

By this point I have had enough. I called them up and was told that they thought that they might have sent the wrong part that they would send me out the correct part that day. I wait. No package. I call them up and get told that their warehouse could not find the part but they would send it out the next day. So I wait. I stay up all morning after working a 3rd shift waiting on the package to come. I get a phone call 12:30pm to hear. We could not find the part. They ask for the number for a local shop. I look up the number for them They say that they will call me right back. So I wait.

I am getting really disgusted with this thing by this time. At 1:20, I get a phone call from Red Streak Motors. "That shop does not have the part but they might have a universal part for it. Do you have someone with a truck to help you get it to the shop?" I have now had it at this point. The scooter has a 90 day warrenty on it and by the time I get it running again the warrenty will have expired. I tell them that I am about to tell them to come get it. I am tired of fighting with them and the scooter. They ask me if I would give them one more day to see if they can get something worked out. I tell them one day and one day only. I am starting to think that this it going to be a major lemon and that I will have nothing but trouble with it.

I know this much I will NEVER buy another scooter from them again. I spend $800 and get junk in return. I have nothing to show for my money.

warranty on red streak navigator 250

I have just purchased a red streak navigator 250 and the temp guage hasn't worked since new. SMF Cycles in Newnan Ga. has known this since my 310 mile service. I now have 600 miles on the scooter and still haven't heard from dealer on my temp sending unit in the motor. I hope this doesn't end up with the other ripoff report. 90 day warranty is not much anyway but when you don't get instant service to warranty your new scooter it doesn't show very good with Red Streak Motors. No refund as of yet

I was told that a refund was going to be refunded back as soon as they got the original paperwork. I 2nd day aired the paperwork back to them on March 22, 2004. It was signed for on the 24th of March. According to Ron Clark, on April 1, 2004, they got the paperwork on Monday, March 29, 2004. They "supposedly" refunded the money on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. No refund as of yet. If you want to get the run around go through this company. If not, Stay far far far away from them. They will take your money and run.

Stringing me along

After 2 weeks of waiting for Red Streak Motors to ship the parts for my scooter. I was told a week ago that the parts were shipped. I found out today that the parts have still not been shipped. I am tired of being strung along. It is coming up to the end of the warrenty. Most of the time of the scooters life was in the shop. I told Red Streak Motors that I want my money back. They told me that I will get a refund after I send them the certificate of origin back to them and they will issue the refund back right then. I shipped the paperwork back along with the book and the bill of sale back to them 2nd day UPS so that I can track it and so that they can not say that they never got it. I was told by Red Streak Motors that they have not had ANY problems with this scooters before or after mine. The shop that was waiting on the parts to fix my scooter also sells scooters told me that the scooter I bought and the one they sell are the same scooter and that they have had nothing by problems with them. I think I will believe the shop that works on the scooters as well as sells them before I will trust a company that string a customer along. I will update this in 4 days on whether or not I got all of my money back. I feel that I should get compensated for my time and trouble but I do not see that happening.

I just recieved a phone call today. Red Streak Motors has taken the time to contact a shop that is willing to come get the scooter and fix it at no charge to me. They are trying to make it right. My opinion of this company is changing for the better seeing they are trying to make it right.
