Our property manager contacted Reddi Services (RS) to perform a routine sewer line clearing at one of our properties on 2/26/15. Unexpectedly, we received a bid for $2690 to dig up 10 feet of existing pipe and replace it with PVC. The bid states that the "technician was unable to pass through [sewer line] with a full blade" during the cleaning. We felt this was odd because major sewer replacement was performed on the property before and requested a CCTV video of the sewer line from RS that same day. How else would they justify their bid if they did not perform a CCTV video? Our property manager made multiple attempts by email and phone to get proof of the alleged broken pipe and we were never answered. We insisted that they show us their CCTV video since it is standard practice in the plumbing industry for large repair jobs. On 3/3/15, RS informs our property manager that they did run a CCTV camera on the sewer line hence why they proposed the bid.  Again, we immediately demanded to see that video from RS. As expected, we did not receive a response again. As a result, we decided to hire an independent plumber to run a CCTV video of the alleged broken line for us because we felt something was "fishy" as we had dealt with contractor scams in the past. Unsurprisingly, we received information that was contradictory to RS's claim. The independent plumber informed us that our line was perfectly fine and did not require any replacement work. Our property manager informed RS immediately and demanded an explanation, but no response. On 3/11/15, the property manager told us that RS again claimed they filmed the line, but can't find the video. After following up multiple times with RS and on 3/13/15, their manager finally admitted that they did not film a video and the bid was "flawed." They even promised to credit us for the original service call. Based on our past experiences with contractors, it is our opinion that RS was trying to scam us. We hope others reading this will learn from our experience.
