I believe there is a story at this particular address in Champlain NY - 12919.

The address is 1320 Route 9.

My story: One of my employees (my daughter) received a call from an office supply company. He told her he had our order and wanted to confirm a shipping address. She knew nothing about this order as he tried to get her to tell him that she was to approve the shipment. It was for cash register tape and other supplies. She said she didn't order it but maybe her mother did. He said if it was her mother then she was authorized to approve the delivery. In other words, a scam.

When she relayed the story to me, that is what we determined. I told her and the rest of the staff not to receive a shipment from this company if it came in. Two weeks later, an invoice from a company called "Redwood Paper" arrived. It was for supplies I never ordered and totaled $$258.50. I own a small miniature golf business at a resort location. There is NO WAY I would have ordered all of this cash register paper. I pick up my supply of about 10 rolls a summer at Staples.

At the bottom of the invoice it read:

No returns after 30 days.
20% restocking fee on all returns.
No cash refunds, credit only.
2% interest per month on overdue accounts.

I immediately called the number on the invoice and told them we would not receive the shipment so don't both delivering it. If the shipment was received by mistake I would not be paying it. And if I heard from the company again, I would report them to the BBB.

They returned my call and told me that the product had been delivered and that I owed the amount on the invoice. We never received a shipment, I told them I wouldn't pay the bill . . .

After this I googled the company - no luck - then the address that was written on the invoice - Bingo. There are many, many companies using this address to run these scams out of this location. Many of them have a website and they all look extremely similar, all probably designed by the same person. They all have 800 numbers. They almost all have dates by their copyright between 2005 and 2007 (a slew of them are copyrighted 2007). One in particular has been written up on FraudWatchers.org. That company was called Easton Consulting Group. Most have offices in Champlain, NY and in Montreal, Canada.

eFundraising.com - zero affiliation with Redwood Paper

report # 264570 makes statements which are both inaccurate and unfounded. eFundraising.com Corporation is a reputable company and furthermore a subsidiary of QSP; a Time Inc Company, with zero affiliation with Redwood Paper. The address mentioned is the location of Freeport Forwarding Inc, a company providing freight forwarding solutions for third party companies. It was at one point in time eFundraising.coms American mailing address, at which location we had only a postal box. We now receive mail at a FedEx network warehouse close by. This reports allusion to eFundraising's involvement in fraudulent activity is not only untrue but illegitimate.

File a coplaint letter with Attorney General

This will take some time, but you need to file complaint letters with the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau in your state and the state the Scam company is located. These orginizations will not help you much other than sending letters to the scam company letting them know you have filed a complaint with them. I have found in the past as soon as these companies see that you have filed these complaints they stop harassing you.

Also make your employees aware of people calling to update you business listing, these scam companies get your employee on recording stating yes to the answers they have asked and the next thing you know you receive an invoice in the mail for something you didn't order. These companies are famous for changing the recodings around to make it sound like you ok'd the invoice price.

When I took over another shop in Sept 2005 I received so many calls from scam companies that now I just hang up. I have found anything out of Champlin New York is always a scam if done over the phone. So now when they call and want to update my business listing I just hang up.

Good Luck
