Buyers beware! Stay away from Sheri Reed (maiden name Vickers) from Reed’s Chihuahuas!! It’s been a couple weeks now, but I haven’t shared about this tragic loss as I have been so depressed and mourning his loss to even speak about it.

This Breeder only ground ships these puppies!

We have several texts from this breeder who contacted the ground shipper that she referred us to, as in her own words she has gotten away from flying her puppies, we trusted her, as she stated she always ground ships her puppies and she has been doing this for over ten years! She put our puppy in the hands of this ground shipper that she found on Facebook and she interviewed and she referred us to, on February 26th and of she felt that this puppy wasn’t well enough o make this trip then she as the breeder should NOT have placed our puppy with a ground shipper to be on the road for a week! As we stated this puppy died in my arms right after this guy Jack (the ground shipper) dropped him off after midnight on March 3rd! We are the ones who are at a loss of this chihuahua puppy that we entrusted Sheri Reed and the ground shipper that she referred us to and that she also contacted, and we are the ones who received a dead puppy! Either way Sheri should have known in her heart that this 8 week old chihuahua puppy would have been better off flying like I originally asked her to do, but she said flying causes too much stress on puppies.

Research and Education on the Buyer's Part is Key

#3General Comment

While I am extremely sorry for your loss, you sadly as the buyer, are the one in the wrong here. Not by any means meaning that you intentionally did anything wrong. It might just be that you are new to buying puppies. As the buyer of the puppy it is your responsibility to do the just amount of research into your breeder's purchase agreement and warranties prior to purchasing the puppy. As a past breeder of Shih Tzus I know FIRST hand how important it is for the buyer to read through it carefully and to understand what that means before you purchase.

For example, if the purchase agreement does not state any information about whether you will get money back or a new puppy in the case of death, then LEGALLY the seller will never be held at fault in the court of law (good luck if you want to try but I know first hand from taking the breeder of my first puppy to court when I was 18 and she even was a hermaphrodite which breeder did not disclose to me with severe health issues that you won't win). Second....You should have done SOOOO much more research on shipping puppies, and any dog for that matter. You should have never made that decision. Even if the breeder agreed to it, you are the only one who could have officially made that final decision....Definitely the biggest mistake you made.

AND LAST but not least, as an owner of TWO of Sheri's chihuahuas and sitting here looking over OUR purchase agreement, you will not win and you are at fault not the breeder. Never EVER ship a puppy in the future unless you are the one riding on the plane with your puppy. To everyone else out there reading this complaint from Liz, do your homework too and research Sheri's response on her Reed's Chihuahuas Facebook page. It will explain it all. This is seriously the best chihuahua breeder to purchase from. YES to thinking any of you out there should purchase from her. NO to shipping her puppies or any puppies unless you are on the plane and he/she's under your seat. And if you are getting a brachycephalic or snub-nosed breed, NO shipping no matter what. So all in all, I'm so sorry Liz for your loss and I'm hoping by reading this you will learn a thing or two for smart, educated puppy purchasing in the future.
